Chen Yuan was the son of Chen Ji, a martial artist who died protecting his squad during a beast horde when Chen Yuan was thirteen. Chen Ji entrusted him to teammate Qin Zhan, who moved his family next door after Chen Yuan chose not to live with them; Qin Zhan’s family cared for him for six years. Chen Yuan’s mother had died young, and the original owner of his body had few close relationships outside the Qin family. 1

At nineteen, Chen Yuan awakened with an optimization panel that recorded his condition and could optimize secret techniques using Kill Points. He quickly began repairing his injured body, cultivating Crystal Meditation, and improving the inherited Spirit Wind Sword Art. 2 3 6

The Chen family possesses a distinctive bloodline affinity for the Wind Law. Under Yuan’s protection, Chen Yuan studied beyond his Source World while keeping his strength concealed. Xuan Tianzun, ruler of the Xuanhuang Domain, provided him with a permanent residence in the Yuan Desolate Ancient World on Yuan’s instructions.
