The Alvida Pirates

Aboard the Miss Love Duck.

Alvida watched the luxury yacht in the distance.

A gloomy smile spread across her face. As a pirate captain, she loved coming across defenseless yachts like this.

It was like hitting the jackpot. She could seize a huge haul of treasure and supplies without breaking a sweat.

Alvida shouted, "Helmsman, speed up! Catch that fat fish ahead! I'm going to clean house today!"

The lackeys shouted back, "Aye, Captain!"

On the yacht, a barrel rolled this way and that, making its way into the kitchen.

A woman who looked just like Nami sneakily tried to go out and see what was happening.

But she happened to see the yacht's main mast get blown apart by a cannonball. Splinters flew everywhere, and smoke billowed into the air.

The pirate ship behind them was already closing in, and its crew were preparing to board. She was so frightened that she hurried back inside.

At last, the Alvida Pirates caught up. The pirates pulled out grappling hooks and threw them toward the yacht.

Then, with a great commotion, they swarmed over along the ropes.

Moya, watching from inside the ship, gaped in utter disbelief. He was astonished! Astonished by a whole catty!! Astonished by a whole whale

!!!

"How are these people so freakish?! Are they all circus performers or something? They can run along ropes!"

This was beyond ridiculous—ridiculous enough to make your jaw drop.

Just then, there was a deafening crash.

A huge hole was smashed into the yacht. Out of the dust strode an ugly woman three or four meters tall, wearing a feathered aristocratic hat and carrying a gigantic spiked club.

Moya swore he'd never seen a woman so huge in his life. She was as imposing as a giant.

She'd even jumped across the dozen or so meters between the two ships. How terrifying.

As he stared at the familiar-looking, enormous, ugly woman, a thought flashed through Moya's mind.

Wasn't this the pirate crew that appeared in the very first episode of One Piece?!

Alvida, the ugly woman who ate the Slip-Slip Fruit and became beautiful.

Moya thought in shock, I really have crossed over into the world of One Piece—and it's the very first episode, when Luffy sets sail!

Then the pretty orange-haired woman who looked just like Nami really is the Cat Burglar, Nami! Just thinking about it made Moya a little excited.

Then Luffy must be on this ship, too.

Right, a barrel. Moya hurried to find the kitchen, thinking of the barrel that contained the protagonist, Luffy.

In this world, both familiar and strange, Moya's first thought was, of course, to cling to the protagonist.

That was the only way he might survive longer!

Besides, aboard this yacht, Luffy was the only one who could beat Alvida.

Meanwhile, Nami had quickly changed into a pirate outfit and was preparing to sneak onto Alvida's ship to steal things.

Moya's heart raced as he nervously searched for the kitchen, though he had no idea where it was.

But it should be below deck. After all, the barrel containing Luffy had rolled down there.

At least Moya could figure that much out.

He was a bona fide graduate of the Stay-at-Home University, with extensive theoretical knowledge, sound logic, and pretty decent deductive skills. He'd also watched countless anime and read countless novels.

Turning a corner below deck, Moya bumped into a four-eyed kid with pink hair.

Koby! Moya recognized the kid at once—the little Marine who awakened advanced Observation Haki during the Summit War and dreamed of becoming a Marine Admiral!

Going by Oda's worldbuilding and the clues in the story, this kid had the potential to become a Marine Admiral!

Moya quickly helped the timid boy up and was just about to speak.

His face twisted with effort, turning purple. Damn it, he still couldn't speak the language of the One Piece world.

All he could do was hold Koby's hand and call out in a sing-song voice, "Koby, Koby."

He hoped to earn even the slightest bit of goodwill.

Koby stared at the young man calling his name, completely bewildered.

I don't think I know this guy. How does he know my name?!

Just then, footsteps sounded outside.

Moya knew some pirates were coming in. He gestured for Koby to stay quiet, then hurriedly hid.

Three burly pirates came in. The kind-hearted Koby didn't give Moya away.

The pirates saw Koby, cursed at him, and began searching for anything useful.

Hidden away, Moya grew tense, his heart pounding.

Moya didn't believe these pirates were good people. They'd surely burned, killed, and looted before.

If they spotted him, they might slash him without a second thought. That could be the end of his trip to this world.

Moya couldn't fight the people in this freakish world—not even an ordinary pirate!

A bead of cold sweat trickled down his forehead. All he could do was silently pray the pirates wouldn't find him!

He covered his mouth and steadied his breathing, trying to keep it from getting too fast and loud.

Just then, the fat pirate shouted, "There's a big barrel here. Maybe it's full of good liquor!"

The other two pirates immediately turned their attention to it.

Moya steadied his breathing and let out a long sigh. So, Luffy would make his entrance next.

But how was he supposed to get aboard Luffy's ship when they couldn't even understand each other?

What a problem!

Sigh, for now, he'd just have to take things as they came.

Meanwhile, Nami had already infiltrated Alvida's ship.

After using her "seduction" and knocking out a pirate with a kick to the groin, Nami smiled and began her looting spree.

After warming up for a bit, the fat pirate raised his massive fist and pounded the barrel.

But right then, the barrel burst open. A kid wearing a straw hat stretched out his arms, grinning as if he'd just had a wonderful nap.

His fist just happened to send the fat pirate flying, leaving everyone stunned.

Watching it all, Moya sighed.

What a protagonist with maxed-out luck.

He could climb into a barrel, drift wherever it took him, and still get picked up. This cheat-like ability and protagonist aura really were the real deal.

And on top of that, he had a whole host of powerful connections.

His grandfather was the Marine hero, Monkey D. Garp;

His father was the leader of the Revolutionary Army, Monkey D. Dragon;

His sworn brother was the Pirate King's son and the second division commander of the Whitebeard Pirates, Portgas D. Ace;

His other sworn brother was the chief of staff of the Revolutionary Army, Sabo;

His dream's guiding light was the Red-Haired Emperor, Shanks;

His future master was the Pirate King's right hand, Pluton Rayleigh;

And in the future, the Pirate Empress, Boa Hancock, would be one of his confidantes.

There was also a whole string of princesses he'd have ambiguous relationships with—the princess of the Alabasta Kingdom, the princess of Dressrosa, the princess of Fish-Man Island, and so on.

Moya was green with envy just thinking about it.

The thought of all those connections made Moya's heart sink. He'd come to a world where people were far stronger than anyone on Earth.

Sigh, with his frail body, he didn't know if he'd survive.

The other two bewildered pirates finally reacted. They raised their swords and slashed at Luffy.

But Luffy was the protagonist, after all. He struck back, knocking the swords from their hands and snapping them in two, killing the two lackeys in an instant.

Seeing his chance, Moya hurried out and shouted, "Luffy! Luffy!"

It was such a pain not being able to speak the language.

Luffy turned around, looking delighted.

"Huh? You know me? I didn't know I was already that famous! Ha ha! I'm going to be King of the Pirates!"

Moya couldn't understand what Luffy was saying.

But he could at least make out the classic line, "I'm going to be King of the Pirates!"

After that, though, he was stumped. Moya couldn't keep the conversation going.

When Luffy saw that Moya wasn't replying, he looked confused but didn't dwell on it. He turned to Koby and started looking around for food while the two of them talked.

Moya guessed they were discussing Koby's miserable past.

All Moya could do was anxiously wait on the side and think of a plan.

Just then, while Luffy and Koby weren't paying attention, two lackeys ran upstairs in a panic to report to Alvida.

Moya noticed, but he didn't know how to communicate with anyone. All he could do was let the story play out.
