Background / History
Nightingale was previously defeated and badly injured by the combined efforts of Xu Yue and Xu Feng while the sides competed over an item in another world. He later pursued revenge in the Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils world, luring Xu Yue into Worry-Free Cave with a Portkey trap. 21
He initially cooperated with Wu Que and Tu Xingsun against Xu Yue and Xu Feng. When the cave's collapse forced him to divert magical power into sustaining the structure, Xu Yue turned the environment against him, and Nightingale escaped alongside Wu Que. 21 23
After Tu Xingsun captured Huang Shang, Nightingale and Wu Que intervened to save him and began competing to secure Huang Shang's favor and eventual Character Card. Nightingale relied on attentive care, food, flirtation, and a failed Love Potion scheme, while Wu Que countered with the Bright Jade Art manual. 24 25 27
Nightingale and Wu Que later made a practical partnership, agreeing that sharing Huang Shang's Character Card would be preferable to sabotaging each other while facing the rival Xu siblings. 31
Appearance
Nightingale commonly conceals himself beneath a black cloak, particularly during combat and covert operations. When unmasked, he is described as short and cute-looking, with an appearance sharply at odds with his magical combat path. 21 23 44
- Large eyes, petite nose, and prominent dimples. 23
- Shorter than Xu Yue, though well-proportioned. 44
- Carries a nine-and-a-half-inch cherry-wood wand. 21
- Uses a black cloak as concealment and as part of his combat presentation. 21 47
Personality
Nightingale is calculating, highly competitive, and willing to use both battlefield ambushes and social manipulation to achieve his goals. He considers Huang Shang a valuable long-term asset: a martial partner who could protect a spellcaster and greatly increase their combined combat potential. 21 24
He can switch abruptly between an informal, Earth-era manner of speaking and an affectedly refined demeanor when dealing with ancient plot characters. His attempt to charm Huang Shang is persistent and increasingly romanticized in his own thoughts, though Huang Shang's Daoist state of mind renders the Love Potion ineffective. 24 25 27
Despite his rivalry with Wu Que and the Xu siblings, Nightingale recognizes when cooperation is more profitable than conflict. He accepts alliances against outside threats and helps protect Huang Shang, including establishing defensive measures around Huang Shang's residence. 31 37 47
Abilities & Skills
Magical Spellcasting
Nightingale is a peak one-star magical Reincarnator who channels spells through a cherry-wood wand. His attacks manifest as pitch-black streams of magical energy and shadow-like restraints. 21 49
- Fires dark magical currents capable of contesting Xu Yue's ice-shard attacks. 21
- Uses restraining spells to bind or slow stronger melee opponents such as Butcher. 49
- Supports allies from range while Wu Que and Xu Feng engage in close combat. 49 50
- Is vulnerable when forced into water, where he would be unable to exert even a tenth of his usual combat strength. 23
Portkey Manipulation
Nightingale can enchant objects into Portkeys for short-range teleportation and positional control. 21
- Lured Xu Yue into Worry-Free Cave and severed her telepathic connection with Xu Feng. 21
- His Portkeys function within a range of roughly ten miles. 21
- Used repeated Portkey displacement to force Xia Hui into exhausting movements, suppressing her luck-based ability. 50
- Cannot match the long-range Portkeys associated with the original Harry Potter example cited in the narrative. 21
Magic Circle Construction
Nightingale can prepare magic circles that reinforce his spellcasting and control an area. 21
- Constructed a magic circle in Worry-Free Cave that amplified his magical power across a one-hundred-meter radius. 21
- Used the circle to establish the cave as his “home turf” during the ambush on Xu Yue. 21
- Was forced to redirect its power to prevent the cave from collapsing after Xu Feng's explosives damaged it. 21
- Set up a defensive circle around Huang Shang's temporary residence and instructed him to remain within it if attacked. 37
Infiltration and Utility Magic
Nightingale's magic is not limited to direct combat; he employs it for reconnaissance, infiltration, interrogation, and defense. 28 31 37
- Illuminated the secret passage beneath Fairy He's temple. 28
- Disabled traps while moving through the passage. 28
- Possesses Truth Serum, which Wu Que sought to use against captured Ming Cult members. 31
- Helped obtain intelligence from He Sijun through Truth Serum, enabling the campaign against the Ming Cult. 43
Potions
Nightingale possesses magical potions intended to influence or extract information from targets. 25 27 31
- Administered three drops of a low-grade Love Potion to Huang Shang through Beggar's Chicken. 27
- The potion failed to alter Huang Shang's feelings or prompt intimacy; his developed Ancestral Aperture and Daoist state of mind instead made him more detached. 27
- Keeps Truth Serum as a more dependable tool for interrogation and identifying spies. 31 47
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Cherry-wood wand — Nine and a half inches long; used to cast offensive and restraining magic. 21 49
- Black cloak — Conceals his identity and equipment during covert activity. 21 47
- Portkey — Enchanted transport tool used for ambushes, short-range displacement, and battlefield control. 21 50
- Love Potion — Low-grade potion used unsuccessfully on Huang Shang. 27
- Truth Serum — Potion used for interrogation and intelligence gathering. 31 43
- Magic circles — Prepared formations for amplification, surveillance, and defense. 21 37
Relationships
- Wu Que — Partner, rival, and frequent co-conspirator. They initially compete for Huang Shang's favor, then agree to cooperate and potentially share Huang Shang's Character Card. 23 31
- Huang Shang — Desired contract target. Nightingale protects, flatters, feeds, and attempts to romantically influence him in hopes of winning his loyalty. 24 25 27
- Xu Yue — Long-standing rival known as “Queen.” Nightingale previously fled after losing to Xu Yue and Xu Feng, then ambushed her in Worry-Free Cave for revenge. 21
- Xu Feng — Rival and Xu Yue's brother. His explosives disrupted Nightingale's cave ambush, forcing Nightingale to split power away from his magic circle. 21
- Tu Xingsun — Former ally in the Worry-Free Cave operation. Nightingale and Wu Que later attacked him to rescue Huang Shang. 23 24
- Beggar Sect — Allied faction during the campaign against the Ming Cult; Nightingale handled the encirclement of the Ming Cult stronghold. 37 43
Story Role / Major Arcs
Worry-Free Cave Ambush

Competition for Huang Shang
After helping defeat Tu Xingsun, Nightingale begins competing with Wu Que for Huang Shang's trust. He uses care, food, charm, and Love Potion in an attempt to secure Huang Shang as a contract partner. 24 25 27
Fairy Temple Investigation
Nightingale accompanies Huang Shang and Wu Que into Fairy He's secret passage, using illumination and trap-breaking magic. During the ensuing confrontation, he remains behind Huang Shang for protection and later seals the passage while Huang Shang fights Zhu Yan. 28 29 30
Campaign Against the Ming Cult
With the Beggar Sect, Nightingale helps cripple the Ming Cult's influence in Jinghu South Circuit. He takes responsibility for encircling the enemy while Wu Que pursues fleeing targets and the Beggar Sect launches the frontal assault. 37 43
Alliance Against External Reincarnators
Nightingale joins Wu Que, Xu Yue, and Xu Feng in a temporary alliance against Reincarnators associated with Western Xia and the Liao Kingdom. His Truth Serum is considered especially valuable for exposing spies. 47

Trivia
- Nightingale's codename is considered one of the comparatively normal names among the one-star Reincarnators' aliases. 21
- He is a mage but is noted to be proficient in illumination spells, which he uses for practical infiltration work. 28
- His Love Potion plan becomes an extended failure: Huang Shang eats the treated Beggar's Chicken but grows more detached rather than more affectionate. 27
