Background / History

Wu Que visited the Handsome Siblings world twice. He acquired the Moving Flower Palace inheritance on his first visit; on his second, he nearly died while attempting to contract Yao Yue and Lian Xing, but obtained the complete Bright Jade Art and converted it into an item card. He later found that this low-martial divine art was difficult to sell in the Main God Temple, where its likely buyers pursued higher-star power instead. 22

Before entering the Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils world, Wu Que had already identified Huang Shang as a promising target. He abandoned the search because Huang Shang was then an unknown background figure amid the Great Song’s vast population. 23

Appearance

Wu Que ordinarily presents himself as a refined, graceful young gentleman, favoring flowing white robes and a folding fan. His cultivated image sharply contrasts with the haggard, beggar-like state he reaches after prolonged campaigning and waiting for Huang Shang. 42 47

Personality

Wu Que is calculating, opportunistic, and highly conscious of cost and return. He initially tries to stall Xu Yue by pressuring her to buy the Bright Jade Art, then recognizes Huang Shang’s value and is willing to spend heavily to secure access to him. 22 23 30

His pursuit of Huang Shang is built on manufactured obligation rather than open sincerity. He gives Huang Shang the Bright Jade Art while claiming a terminal illness, intending to make the scholar feel indebted and invest in his recovery. 25 He is also possessive, regarding Huang Shang as an “exclusive prize” and placing magical surveillance around him to keep rivals away. 37

Despite his manipulative methods, Wu Que is capable of pragmatic cooperation. He proposes a partnership with Nightingale rather than allowing their rivalry over Huang Shang to undermine both of them, and later joins Xu Yue and Xu Feng against a greater external threat. 31 47

Worry-Free Cave and Huang Shang’s recruitment

Wu Que confronts Xu Yue and Xu Feng in the Worry-Free Cave, attempting to stall Xu Yue by selling the Bright Jade Art while awaiting Tu Xingsun. He and Nightingale escape the fight, then learn that Tu Xingsun has captured Huang Shang. Wu Que agrees to pay for Huang Shang’s contractual opportunity and stages a rescue to gain the scholar’s trust. 22 23 24

On the journey south, Wu Que gives Huang Shang the Bright Jade Art and claims that cultivating it may save his life. His real purpose is to create a debt of gratitude and compete with Nightingale for Huang Shang’s favor. 25

Fairy Temple investigation

Wu Que leads Huang Shang and Nightingale in investigating Fairy He’s temple. Using his scanning card, he finds the secret passage beneath the temple and helps expose Fairy He and Zhu Yan as Ming Cult operatives. 28

He defeats Fairy He through the combined use of the Bright Jade Art, Incense-Cutting Sword Art, and Moving Flower Grafting Jade. His interest in the Ming Cult’s Great Shift of Heaven and Earth stems from his plan to fuse several force-redirection arts into a two-star technique. 29

Ming Cult campaign and separation

Wu Que helps Huang Shang uncover the Ming Cult’s land annexation scheme and seeks to turn the seized land deeds and intelligence into a stable foundation for Huang Shang’s future. 31

He and Nightingale later depart with the Beggar Sect to attack the Ming Cult, leaving Tu Xingsun responsible for protecting Huang Shang. Their campaign deals a major blow to the cult, though its gunpowder counterattack causes serious Beggar Sect losses. 37 43

Return to Kaifeng and alliance

After Huang Shang disappears from their supervision, Wu Que waits nearly a month at Kaifeng’s gates for his return. He is alarmed to find Murong Fu serving as Huang Shang’s page boy and views the Murong Clan as a new competitor. 42 43

Huang Shang later helps Wu Que break through the Bright Jade Art’s seventh level. 44 Wu Que then joins Xu Yue, Xu Feng, and Nightingale in an alliance against Reincarnators linked to Western Xia and Liao, postponing their internal contest over Huang Shang. 47

Battle with the Western District Reincarnators

Wu Que fights alongside Xu Yue, Xu Feng, and Nightingale against Butcher, the Taoist, and Xia Hui. He initially suppresses the Taoist in close combat, but Xia Hui’s unnaturally accurate ricocheting gunfire forces him to focus on evasion. 49

When Tu Xingsun launches an Earth-Escaping sneak attack, Wu Que counters with his folding fan but cannot prevent him from retreating into the surrounding earth. 50
