Fortunately, Sun Wukong was no longer the same as before. Back then, Tathagata had pinned him beneath Five-Finger Mountain for five hundred years with a single six-character mantra.
Now, the surrounding six-character mantras were not Tathagata's. They merely made it inconvenient for him to move.
Swinging the Golden Cudgel, Sun Wukong struck out in every direction without restraint, smashing out tens of millions of blows in an instant.
The six-character mantras around them shone with dazzling golden light as majestic Buddhist chants rang out, forming layers upon layers of golden screens that blocked Sun Wukong's attacks.
Beneath the shadows of the cudgel, the screens shattered, and countless six-character mantra talismans were torn apart. The remaining ones still tried to wrap around them, but Tang Luo reached out and grabbed.
Thousand Hands Unblockable!
The Glazed Bone Claw shredded the remaining six-character mantra talismans. Tang Luo and Sun Wukong immediately began to fall, though much more slowly than before.
It felt as though they had fallen into the sea, sinking gradually downward.
"Hm?" Sun Wukong frowned. This was the kind of environment he disliked most—wet and clammy.
Well, he also disliked places that were too hot, like Flaming Mountain. A little cold was fine, though.
"Wukong, this is the next level," Tang Luo reminded him that it was time to get to work.
"Oh, but Master, what's imprisoned here?" Sun Wukong looked all around, blinking his Fire-Eye Golden Pupils, but he had yet to spot any enemy.
He was also wondering which direction to strike in. If he wanted to use the Golden Cudgel to blast open a path to the next level, he needed a direction at least.
Just because they were sinking did not mean the next level was truly "below" them.
Or should he simply smash in every direction?
