Background / History

Tsunade is the daughter of Sanshao, also called Misaki, and a descendant of both Senju Hashirama and Uzumaki Mito. She is one-quarter Senju and one-quarter Uzumaki; her golden hair and eyes resemble her father more than her mother. Her Senju heritage made her Konoha’s highest-status child during the clan’s decline, though the clan’s later withdrawal steadily eroded that inherited prestige. 140 166 201 278

At age seven, Tsunade travelled with Hanyu and Jiraiya when an assailant targeted her because of her Senju lineage. She was eager to fight and frustrated when Hanyu kept her out of the confrontation, establishing her early impulsiveness and confidence in her own strength. 55 56 57
