Brave Savior
The next morning, Kyle walked into the Great Hall with light dark circles under his eyes and a yawn.
In his daze, he went to the wrong table and almost sat down at the Slytherin's table, but luckily Mikel, who was with him, stopped him in time.
"Kyle, what's wrong with you?"
Cedric handed her a glass of milk and said, "Didn't sleep well last night?"
Kyle sighed.
He didn't just not sleep well; he didn't sleep at all.
Good heavens, he searched the Restricted Section all night, but he couldn't find anything, not even the word "Horcrux," let alone "The Magick Moste Evile."
Horcrux are only mentioned in a book called "Making the Soul Boil," and only in a short sentence.
"Only by finding the vessel to hold the soul can one grasp the key to immortality."
Apart from that there is nothing.
This is a complete idiom for a Restricted Section.
Pshaw, false advertising!
Of course, Kyle couldn't possibly search the entire Restricted Section in just one night, but he didn't want to look anymore.
Clearly, Dumbledore had taken away all the books about Horcrux, and the remaining books contained only a few words or phrases, which were completely useless.
Kyle looked up at his friends' concerned expressions, forced a smile, and shook his head, saying, "It's nothing. I just had some strange dreams all night, and I'm still a little disoriented."
"A strange dream?"
Cedric frowned and said, "I remember there was Divination Class at Hufflepuff today. Do you need me to ask Professor Sprout for you?"
Encouraged by Fred and George, Cedric also opted for Divination Class.
"No."
Kyle yawned again and said, "I just read books in my dream all night. I guess I was just a little too excited because it's the beginning of the semester. Maybe I'll be fine tomorrow."
Forehead...
Upon hearing Kyle's words, everyone except Cedric turned their heads away and stopped looking at him.
I even dreamt about reading all night... Is this what it means to be number one in the grade?
We can't afford to mess with them.
Even Cedric couldn't help but twitch his lips, and said nothing more.
"I have something interesting to tell you."
Just then, Mikel suddenly leaned over and said mysteriously, "I heard from the first-year students last night that Harry Potter and Ron Weasley from Gryffindor actually fed Professor McGonagall dried fish during their Transfiguration Class."
"Hey Professor McGonagall?" Cedric immediately perked up, asking incredulously, "Really?"
He knew that Professor McGonagall had a habit of displaying her Animagus in the first class, but he never expected that someone would dare to deliberately provoke her.
Yes, in Cedric's eyes, they did it on purpose. After all, who would bring dried fish to class for no reason? They must have known beforehand that Professor McGonagall would turn into a cat, and that's why they prepared in advance.
He truly deserves to be called the Chosen One; his courage is simply beyond the reach of ordinary people.
"Of course it's true."
Mikel suppressed a laugh and said, "This has been all over the school. That freshman named Justin Finch-Fletchley even said that they were feeding dried fish to wild cats from half a classroom away."
Professor McGonagall's face turned pale. She punished him... pfft... made them stand for the entire lesson."
At this point, Mikel finally couldn't hold back anymore and burst into laughter, collapsing onto the dining table.
Cedric couldn't help but chuckle, though not as exaggeratedly as Mikel.
Kyle instinctively turned his head to look at the Gryffindor dining table.
Over there, Harry and Ron were huddled in a corner of the table, too scared to look up, while Fred and George stood beside them, laughing and patting their shoulders vigorously.
In their eyes, their younger brother and junior had undoubtedly done a great deed, so great that even they had to express their deepest respect for them.
"These freshmen these days are really bold."
Kyle turned around, calmly picked up a piece of toast and put it in his mouth, then took a few slices of fried egg and fried ham.
When he had almost finished eating, he tapped the table with his finger and said softly:
"Could I have a cup of black tea?"
No sooner had he finished speaking than a steaming cup of black tea appeared in front of Kyle, along with a small jar of sugar cubes.
Kyle picked up the cup, tested the temperature, and finding it to be just right, drank the black tea inside in one gulp.
"Another drink, please."
After drinking two cups of black tea, Kyle finally felt less sleepy, but just to be on the safe side, he ordered a third cup.
Today's first period is Transfiguration Class. If he falls asleep in class, his fate will be even worse than Harry's.
After leaving the Great Hall, the group said goodbye to Cedric and headed together to the Transfiguration Class classroom on the fourth floor.
Perhaps because of what happened yesterday, Professor McGonagall seemed much more serious than usual.
Unlike Professor Flitwick, she did not give students time to review what they had learned the previous year in the first class of the new school year, but instead started with the new material directly.
Turning a beetle into a button is significantly more difficult than last year.
Because beetles can move, and they move quite quickly.
Mikel waved his wand, but after all his efforts, he only managed to give the beetle a little exercise.
Ryan was smarter; he simply held the beetle in his hand, so he didn't have to worry about missing the target.
But just as he raised his wand, Professor McGonagall appeared beside him and said sternly, "Didn't I just tell you? You're not allowed to touch the beetle with your hands. Didn't you hear me? Or do you think your left hand is a bit redundant?"
The beetle isn't very big; it looks even smaller if you hold it in your hand. If you're not careful, the curse might land on your hand.
If you're lucky, nothing will happen, but if you're unlucky... well, nobody knows what might happen.
Something similar happened last year, and the little wizard's fingers immediately splinted together, requiring two full days to recover at the Hospital Wing.
Ryan shuddered in fright and stammered, "Professor McGonagall, I... I forgot."
"Hufflepuff dunks three points."
Professor McGonagall glared at him, then turned and left.
After learning his lesson, the others dared not try to be clever anymore and obediently chased the beetle around the table, randomly clicking on things.
However, their results were mostly not very satisfactory.
The beetles were so agile that many people gradually lost patience and began to swing their wands with increasing force.
A series of crackling sounds gradually filled the classroom, with sparks occasionally flying out in all directions.
The beetle mortality rate began to rise sharply; some were flattened by wands, while others were blown away, which made Professor McGonagall's expression even more grim.
