Hermione also remembered that during her first Charms class, someone asked Professor Flitwick if it was possible to change the color of the Wand-Lighting Charm so that the wand would glow red.

Professor Flitwick's answer at the time was no, saying that it would change the nature of the spell, and even if it could be done, the incantation would be completely different, and it would only be another kind of spell.

Hermione found it hard to believe that Kyle was able to create a new spell in his second year.

She glanced up in Hufflepuff's direction; Kyle was chatting and laughing with others.

"Is the difference between wizards really that big?" Hermione sighed, somewhat dejected.

The banquet began quickly. Lost in thought about the event, Hermione didn't even notice what she was eating.

On one occasion, she almost put a candle hanging on the table into her mouth, but luckily Harry noticed in time and stopped her.

After a sumptuous dinner, everyone packed their bags early the next morning and prepared to take the train to King's Cross Station.

Mikel and Ryan went back too, and Kyle was still the only one left in the dorm today, during the Christmas holiday.

Having gotten used to the hustle and bustle of daily mornings, I'm finding it quite strange to suddenly find it quiet.

Because there were few people, Kyle didn't go to the Great Hall for breakfast. Instead, he went to the kitchen, grabbed some food, and ate a few bites in the common room.

When Kanna arrived at the common room, Kyle was examining a stone.

What are you doing here so early in the morning?

Kanna leaned over to take a look, somewhat curious.

At this moment, Kyle was holding his wand and gesturing at a white pebble on the table in front of him.

Each time he waved his wand, fragments would fall from the pebbles.

"Are you carving stone?" Kanna asked, puzzled.

"I guess so," Kyle said, staring intently at the pebble without turning his head.

Kanna watched for a while longer, but still couldn't figure out what Kyle was carving.

Not only is it big at one end and small at the other, but it also has no pattern, looking like a piece of pebbles picked up at random.

Kyle spent all that time working on this, and this is all he got?

Kanna felt she had finally discovered what Kyle wasn't good at.

She patted Kyle on the shoulder reassuringly, then forced a laugh as she left the common room.

Although she really wanted to stay and watch Kyle make a fool of herself, unfortunately, she had to hurry up and finish her homework.

The amount of homework for second graders is significantly more than last year, and three days is still quite a tight schedule.

Meanwhile, Kyle, engrossed in fiddling with the stones, didn't notice that Kanna had already left.

Relying on his memory, he carefully sanded away some of the excess material before finally picking it up with satisfaction and examining it in the sunlight.

"Perfect! Mission accomplished!"

Kyle wiped away the stone dust, then picked up his wand and gently tapped it.

In the blink of an eye, the color of the pebble in his hand turned into a crystal-clear red, shimmering in the sunlight and looking just like a ruby.

Kyle stood up from the sofa, rubbing his wrist and laughing, "How is it? Pretty, right... Hmm, where is she?"

It was then that he suddenly realized Kanna was no longer in the lounge.

"Going to do homework so early?"

Kyle shook his head, went back to his dorm, and retrieved his suitcase.

When Kyle came out of the box last time, he didn't lock the inner passage door. As soon as he opened it a crack, a furry black shadow suddenly darted out and disappeared in the blink of an eye.

However, Kyle remained completely calm. He calmly took out the ruby he had just received and waved it around while silently counting in his mind.

"One... two..."

Less than two seconds later, Kyle felt his arm sink.

A fluffy little creature was clinging to his arm, staring intently at the ruby.

That was Niffler he had brought from Newt, and because he was worried it would cause a large-scale theft at Hogwarts, Kyle had kept it locked in a chest all this time.

It's the Christmas holiday season now, so we can let it out to play for a while while there are fewer people in the castle.

After several months, Niffler had grown much larger than before, and its fur had turned completely black, making it look almost like a Bludger.

However, this "Bludger" has been polished.

Kyle used his other hand to pull the Niffler off his arm, but even so, it kept its eyes fixed on the ruby, waving its little legs in mid-air.

"You run pretty fast, no wonder Newt looks for you guys every day."

Kyle scratched Niffler's chin and chuckled, "So, how is it? Do you like it?"

The Niffler nodded repeatedly, pointed to the ruby, and looked at Kyle with longing.

"You have great taste. If you like it, take a look at more of these."

After Kyle finished speaking, the Niffler in his hand fell silent for a moment, then struggled even more violently, howling loudly.

The sound of that voice was incredibly aggrieved.

"Don't talk nonsense. When did I ever say I was going to give it to you?"

Kyle raised an eyebrow and said, "Not very old, but quite cunning. This thing is Philosopher's Stone; I still have a use for it. Just look at it and that's enough."

... A stone conjured by magic, simply called Philosopher's Stone, that makes sense.

But the Niffler didn't care about any of that; all it knew was that the rock was the shiniest thing it had ever seen.

It reached into its pocket and quickly pulled out a handful of small, oddly shaped items.

A button, a piece of broken glass, a few Winky candy wrappers, a few Sickle, and a... Galleon.

"So that's why I couldn't find the Galleon I put in my pocket the other day. Turns out you took it." Kyle rubbed the little guy's head.

He had indeed been here a few days ago, but he hadn't noticed at all when the little guy took the Galleon.

I really didn't feel anything at all.

And that button... It was the same type of button he asked the House-elf to make for the Troll's clothes.

How did this little guy manage to pry it off?

After struggling for a moment, Niffler handed them all to Kyle with a pained expression.

Kyle laughed, "Are you trying to make a trade with me?"

Niffler nodded.

"I'm sorry, I refuse. My Sickle very precious; even if you add them all up, it's not enough."

The Niffler struggled again, letting out a dissatisfied squeak.

But Kyle simply shook his head firmly and tossed it away.

A moment later, it ran over and pounced on Kyle's arm.

Kyle throws it again, and it comes again...

In the end, Kyle even tied a rope to a rock and played a game of fishing for Niffler in his dorm room.

I must say, this is much more interesting than fishing.
