A Simple Difficulty Dungeon
Kyle frowned as he looked at the empty room.
Whether as a member of Hufflepuff or as the instigator, Kyle felt it was his responsibility to help Professor Sprout make amends for this small mistake.
However, the Devil's Snare is still in the Room of Requirement on the Seventh Floor. Moving it again would be too time-consuming, and by the time he returns, Quirrell will probably be ashes.
So Kyle decided to use something else instead.
He opened the box and took out all the Biting Cabbage, arranging them neatly under the Trapdoor.
There are about thirty in total, just enough to cover the steps where the Devil's Snare was previously placed.
He had taken two seeds from Professor Sprout's greenhouse before, and now that he's put them here, it's a tenfold return.
Kyle looked at his masterpiece and nodded in satisfaction... This was the strength a Guardian Philosopher's Stone should have; the previous Devil's Snare was just a joke, too perfunctory.
Hopefully, Professor Quirrell, who'll be coming down soon, also likes Biting Cabbage as much as he does, and understands their habits and weaknesses, otherwise... he might be in trouble.
As for what to do with Harry, Kyle wasn't worried at all; he had a feeling Harry would be alright.
After doing all this, Kyle got back on his broom and flew along a stone corridor, soon arriving at Professor Flitwick's checkpoint.
In the brightly lit room, countless winged keys Accio like birds under the high arched ceiling.
There was a row of three old Broomstick at the entrance.
"Three Broomsticks ...tsk, something's not right with Professor Flitwick," Kyle muttered under his breath.
To cause Professor Quirrell some trouble, Kyle didn't rush into the challenge. Instead, he took out his wand and whispered something to the broom in the corner:
"Get away quickly!"
The Three Broomsticks floated up one after another and flew away along the stone corridor behind them.
As for where they would eventually fly to, Kyle himself didn't know.
It doesn't matter where I go, as long as it's not in this room.
Kyle then jumped off the broom and quickly walked to the other end of the room.
The keys that were flying in mid-air didn't move at all, and he arrived at the door unharmed.
Kyle took out the master key, inserted it into the lock, and gave it a gentle turn... With a click, the lock immediately popped open.
It has to be said that this level is even more simplistic than Professor Sprout's Devil's Snare; it's completely devoid of any difficulty.
Even without the master key, you can easily pass through by simply finding a Bowtruckle in the Forbidden Forest.
However, Professor McGonagall's next challenge is a bit more difficult.
The once empty chessboard is now filled with black and white chess pieces... These pieces are carved from stone, and are about two meters tall, looking just like the stone statues in a castle, exuding a strong sense of oppression.
Kyle frowned, feeling somewhat troubled. His skill level in the Magic Chess game was average; he was fine for casual play, but he wasn't really confident he could pass this level.
Fortunately, he has other methods, though they might be a little rougher. Hopefully, Professor McGonagall won't be angry.
Kyle opened the chest and released the Troll.
"I need to get to the other side."
The Troll tilted its head, and it took it a while to understand Kyle's meaning before it picked up its wooden stick and walked onto the chessboard.
The white pieces tried to block the way, but they were as fragile as clay in front of the incredibly strong Troll, shattering with a single blow.
Kyle followed the Troll and walked straight to the door opposite.
Behind him, the shattered chess pieces were slowly rebuilding. Kyle didn't stop; after putting the Troll back into the box, he walked forward down the next corridor.
The next room was also filled with Troll, and a nauseating stench assaulted the nostrils. The smell was simply unbearable; it was even more lethal than the Troll themselves!
Kyle held his breath, easily fooled the Troll with Disillusionment Charm, and hurriedly passed through the room to reach the final level.
There is only one table here, on which are placed seven bottles of different shapes.
As Kyle stepped across the threshold, a purple flame erupted behind him, sealing the doorway... At the same time, black flames also burst forth from the door leading to the front.
He was trapped in the middle.
Kyle walked to the table and picked up the parchment on it.
It's a simple logic problem... If someone living on Baker Street in London were here, they'd probably know the answer at a glance.
Kyle wasn't that quick, but he didn't need to do any reasoning either; he simply picked up the smallest bottle.
Kyle uncorked the bottle, looked at the dark liquid inside, hesitated for a moment, but still chose not to drink it.
The color was too strange; he simply couldn't bring himself to eat it.
Moreover, Snape's Potions all share a common characteristic... anything he didn't drink himself tasted awful.
When Mikel first drank the Magic Suppressant Potion last year, he said that the fertilizer in the greenhouse smelled sweeter than that stuff.
Kyle didn't know if he was exaggerating, but it's always good to be cautious.
After all, Snape knew who wanted to steal the Philosopher's Stone, and given his personality, he might actually add something to the correct Potions.
Kyle promptly put the bottle back and, wand in hand, went to the black flames in front of him.
Then, his wand began to glow with an orange light.
The light began to spread from the tip of the wand, quickly turning it a vibrant orange.
Kyle slammed his wand into the ground with a backhand motion.
"Finite Incantatem!"
In an instant, the purple and black flames went out simultaneously, and the entire room returned to its original state.
Kyle breathed a sigh of relief.
Thanks to Dumbledore, who changed this large-scale magic, which required multiple wizards to cast together, into a single spell twenty years ago.
Otherwise, the ordinary "Finite Incantatem" method might not even work.
Kyle walked quickly through the doorway and smoothly entered the last room.
Quirrell... or rather Voldemort, hadn't arrived yet; the only thing in the room was a huge mirror.
The Mirror of Erised.
Kyle stepped forward and circled around the mirror.
To be honest, he had thought about it for a long time and still didn't know how Dumbledore had hidden the Philosopher's Stone in the mirror.
Kyle guessed that Dumbledore must have used alchemy to disassemble the Mirror of Erised, add the Philosopher's Stone, and then reassemble it.
Kyle certainly couldn't do this, but it would be a piece of cake for those alchemy masters.
Dumbledore happened to be a master alchemist; otherwise, he wouldn't have been able to become such a close friend of Nicolas Flamel at such a young age.
The smoky silverware in the Headmaster's Office must be his work, but I don't know what its purpose is.
