The New Member of the Weasley Choir
The day before the holiday, the results finally came out, and Kyle, with a perfect score, became the undisputed number one in the grade.
This result surprised many people, who had previously assumed Kyle hadn't done well on the test.
Not only them, but even Kyle himself was surprised.
Snape gave him a perfect score again?
Kyle had previously thought that Snape might have given him a perfect score last year because he saved Kanna from Oren.
After all, we're family; we should at least show our gratitude for being saved.
But why this year? Because he saved Harry?
But that doesn't make sense; Harry doesn't have that much influence... Maybe it would be more plausible if it were Harley.
Kyle was completely baffled.
It couldn't possibly be that Snape had a change of heart and decided to become an excellent wizarding professor.
That's ridiculous! Kyle would rather believe Voldemort was a hidden Muggle intelligence agent... at least that's somewhat plausible.
However, some people believe that such results are normal.
Fred and George had made it clear in the common room that:
"This is the funniest joke I've heard all year."
"Honestly, I'd rather believe our little brother Ron is Prefect than believe Kyle will fail the exam."
Kanna was the same; she never believed that Professor McGonagall shook her head because she found out Kyle hadn't done well on the test, but firmly believed there must be another reason.
And she was right.
Some of the young wizards were so puzzled that they couldn't help but ask Professor McGonagall, only to be scolded as a result.
Professor McGonagall said she shook her head simply because she felt the gap between the others and Kyle was too large, and she was somewhat disappointed.
Of course, this is just the official version of events; nobody really knows what Professor McGonagall is thinking.
But in any case, this school year is finally over.
The notice that magic was not allowed during the holiday was sent to everyone, and everyone left Hogwarts by carriage or ferry and boarded the train back to King's Cross Station.
"Hermione, you don't really need to compare yourself to Kyle. After all, he's the youngest member of the Order of Merlin."
In a private box, Harry, seeing Hermione's frustrated expression, comforted her, "You did very well on the test, and you were first in your grade..."
"But I didn't get a perfect score!" Hermione exclaimed, grabbing her messy hair in frustration.
"You only lost some points on your Potions grade." Harry thought for a moment and said softly, "But that's Snape ... No matter how standard your Potions are, if they're not Slytherin, he'll find a way to deduct points."
"But Kyle isn't Slytherin," Hermione frowned. "Yet he still got a perfect score, which means others can do it too."
I must have done something wrong... Maybe the heating time was too long. The book says twenty seconds, but I forgot that it also takes time to extinguish the flame.
And the valerian branches too, I feel the two I chose were too long..."
Hermione went over and over in the steps she took to make the Forgetfulness Potion, and with each repetition, she seemed to find new mistakes.
Harry and Ron's expressions grew increasingly awkward; it was clear they didn't want to discuss the topic.
The holiday has only just begun... On this wonderful day, they really don't want to hear anything related to grades or exams, especially the Potions exam.
Ron was getting annoyed, so he turned to look at the hallway outside the door, trying to distract himself.
Just then, Kyle happened to pass by their private box.
Having just received the Order of Merlin, he was accompanied by a large group of young wizards.
Everyone wanted to chat with Kyle, making the corridor quite lively.
"How impressive..." Ron muttered to himself, "If I could get both the Order of Merlin and a perfect report card, Mom would be so... Oh no!"
Ron seemed to realize something, and his face instantly turned pale.
"What's wrong?" Harry asked, puzzled. "Are you hungry? I have some snacks here."
"No, Harry!"
Ron said with a bitter face, "Remember when I told you? Our family is Kyle's neighbor."
"Of course I remember."
Harry's voice carried a hint of envy.
A wizarding village, with his Hogwarts classmates as his neighbors—this was the life he had always dreamed of.
"Mom must already know..." Ron's voice trembled with tears, "I'm doomed!"
He initially thought his grades were pretty good, at least he passed everything, but compared to Kyle, his report card was truly appalling.
Oh, right, and Percy too...
His older brother was first in fifth grade, and his neighbor was first in second grade... Ron could already imagine what he was going to experience next.
Last summer, Fred and George's screams were so loud they scared away most of the Gnome.
He even came up with a catchy combination name for Fred and George in his mind at the time.
The Weasleys, the best helpers in driving Gnome Weasley
However, he might join them this year.
Watching Ron chatter on and on, Harry silently patted him on the shoulder, the envy and jealousy in his eyes instantly disappearing.
It seems that having a great neighbor isn't always a good thing.
Fortunately, he doesn't have this problem.
The Dursley family wouldn't care about his grades at all; he wouldn't be scolded even if he went home with a zero.
No... if he really got a zero, his aunt and uncle might be very happy and give him an extra piece of dry bread that Dudley didn't want at breakfast.
The only advantage the Dursley family have is that they don't have to compare themselves to others or worry about poor grades.
Harry tried to laugh, but his mouth seemed glued shut, and he couldn't manage a smile no matter what he did.
Hermione, standing nearby, stopped recounting the exam process.
She looked at Ron, who was heartbroken, opened her mouth, but said nothing.
To be honest, she found it hard to understand Ron's feelings and had no idea how to comfort him.
"If only I could be like Kyle..." Ron sighed and said wistfully.
Meanwhile, in a private room not far from theirs, Kyle anxiously asked, "How is it? Did anyone follow us...?"
"It's very safe!"
Cedric peeked into the corridor, then closed the box door and casually added a curtain with his wand.
"Phew... finally shook them off."
Kyle ripped off the Invisibility Cloak and let out a long sigh of relief.
Who would have thought that he hardly ever used the Invisibility Cloak while strolling through the castle at night, but ended up using it on the train back?
Those people were being way too enthusiastic; if he hadn't used the Invisibility Cloak, he'd probably still be surrounded right now.
