Cedric's Source of Joy
The train spewed out plumes of steam as it traveled along the road.
Inside the train carriage, after Kyle and the others arrived, Kanna and Cho stopped reading magazines with Luna and instead started asking each other about their holiday experiences.
Qiu gets angry whenever this is mentioned.
"Cedric, that liar!"
She said angrily, "He told me that Beauxbatons Academy of Magic was in the Pyrenees, and we went there, but we couldn't find that place on the map at all."
We've been going in circles all day and haven't found anything!
"That's normal."
Kyle said, "I don't know about the others, but the locations of the three major magic schools in Europe are all protected to prevent their teaching methods from being leaked, and also to protect the students and the schools themselves from any harm."
"Like Hogwarts, if a Beauxbatons student came to visit, all he would see was a barren cliff."
Qiu and Kanna were stunned.
Although they knew the school had protective magic, they always thought it was to prevent Muggle from finding out... just like the Muggle-Repelling Charm outside the Leaky Cauldron.
Unexpectedly, this protection also works on wizards.
"But why can Cedric...?" Qiu asked, puzzled.
"Perhaps he encountered someone before," Kyle thought for a moment. "If a professor or someone from another school mentioned Beauxbatons ' location to him, then this protection would be ineffective."
Or, if a student takes you there, you won't be affected either; it's somewhat similar to the Fidelius Charm."
Qiu thought for a moment, and it seemed that Cedric had mentioned before that he had met an old wizard by chance in France, who told him the location of Beauxbatons Academy of Magic.
That's probably why.
Qiu was a little disheartened; why hadn't she encountered that...?
"The Fidelius Charm?"
At this moment, Ginny lifted her head from "The Quibbler" and said thoughtfully, "It seems like Dad mentioned this curse before, but I can't quite remember."
"A type of oath spell, often used to conceal important secrets."
"Will the school teach this spell?" Ginny's eyes lit up, looking very interested.
"No." Kyle shook his head. "This spell is far more difficult than what a normal student would use. If you try to use it without sufficient strength, it might even backfire."
So, unless the professors think you're capable, they won't teach you even if you ask.
"Oh, I see..." Ginny looked somewhat disappointed.
"Ginny, do you have some secret?" Fred looked at her with a wicked grin.
George joined in, "Tell us, we promise we won't tell anyone."
"You said the same thing before," Ginny glared at the two of them, annoyed. "If I had known this spell before my vacation, I wouldn't have been nagging Percy for two months!"
Fred and George, realizing they were in the wrong, quickly withdrew their necks.
The Hogwarts Express traveled northward, the scenery outside the window becoming increasingly desolate, and as the clouds thickened, darkness fell.
People chased and ran past the door of their private rooms.
"No fireworks in the hallway! Which college are you from?!"
Percy's voice came from outside the door.
But instead of responding, those people made even louder noises, laughing and running away.
Percy gave chase, shouting as he ran, "Stop! I'm the student council president!"
Suddenly the door was opened, and Cedric slipped in like a thief.
"Oh... the Prefect is back." Fred asked with a smile, "Do you have any instructions to convey?"
"I'm here to deliver a message." Cedric slammed the door shut behind him.
"You two better run," he said gravely to Fred and George. "Percy already knows you've tampered with his badge, and judging from his expression, he probably wants to kill you and then hang you outside the train as a warning!"
"If we hadn't just happened to run into someone struggling to Filibuster's Fireworks in the hallway, he might have been the one walking in right now."
Fred and George exchanged a glance and smiled.
"Why run away? Let him come," Fred said, seemingly unconcerned.
"Do you think we'd be afraid of that big-headed Percy?" George laughed. "Let me tell you, not at all."
As they spoke, they took out candy and shared it with the others, showing no sign of anything amiss.
The noise outside the door gradually subsided.
They heard Percy's voice again, "How arrogant, Slytherin! They don't even respect the student council president! I'll definitely tell Professor Snape..."
Although the sound was very soft, if you could hear it, it meant he was already nearby.
Fred slapped his thigh. "I almost forgot, Lee Jordan told us to go find him after we got on the train."
"I remember now," George nodded. "He also said he had something important to discuss with us."
"Since we don't have anything else to do right now, let's go quickly."
"OK."
They stood up at the same time, walked calmly to the door of the private room, and peeked outside.
"Fred, George!" Percy's roar came from not far away.
The two of them flung open the door and dashed out.
Because of the sudden movement, George bumped his head against the door frame, wincing in pain, but still clutching his head and following closely behind Fred.
A burst of cheerful laughter immediately filled the private room.
Cedric walked to their previous spot and sat down, shaking his head as he said, "I thought they really weren't afraid."
Ginny chuckled and said, "A few weeks ago, they tried to lock Percy in a pyramid, but Percy found out and beat them up."
If you observe closely, you'll notice that George occasionally rubs the left side of his buttocks.
Because Percy believed he was the mastermind, he beat him up again... but that was indeed the case."
The laughter in the private room grew even louder.
Cedric, in particular, laughed the loudest; he was happier to see the Weasley brothers in trouble than if he had found money himself.
At one o'clock, the fat witch pushing a food cart arrived at the door of their private room.
Kyle hadn't eaten much that morning and was starving, so he bought a huge stack of Cauldron Cake.
He bought the largest portion, enough for the six of them.
Although this cake doesn't taste very good, it's still much better than chocolate and candy.
After finishing the cake, the group chatted for a while. Around three or four o'clock, it started to rain, and the rolling mountains outside the window became blurry.
As Prefect, Cedric was supposed to help maintain order in the carriage, but Percy was too dedicated; his voice could always be heard outside, and most of the young wizards would be scolded back as soon as they peeked out.
His presence wouldn't make any difference.
Cedric also took a rare break and played Exploding Snap" with Kyle in the comfortable private box.
