Christmas Gift Unboxing
The next morning, when Kyle got up, he saw a small mountain of gifts piled up in front of his bed.
Most of them were snacks like chocolates or candies, and there were more of them than he had expected.
"An excellent student is indeed popular."
Kyle put those aside and continued unwrapping the remaining gifts.
The largest gift Hagrid gave was a wooden barrel wrapped in thick kraft paper.
"Could it be Mooncalf...?" Kyle nervously opened the package.
Thankfully, it wasn't what he expected. Hagrid had given him a Cloak Grass, and the wooden bucket was a makeshift flowerpot filled with soil.
The leaves of the Cloak Grass still had a few dewdrops on them, probably because he had just dug them up from the Forbidden Forest.
Kyle gave Hagrid a model of a Dragon, the kind used in the Triwizard Tournament where you draw lots. It could move, fly at low altitudes, and breathe fire.
Hagrid would probably love it.
Cedric gave him a set of "The Quidditch Through the Ages" with the signatures of the Chudley Cannons players.
Kyle looked at the autograph, then disdainfully put the book aside... He didn't like this team.
It's worth mentioning that the gift Kyle gave Cedric was also related to Quidditch: his long-treasured Wimbourne Wasps autographed bat.
He wrote a special letter to Mrs. Weasley and asked her to mail it to him; it was definitely a gift full of sincerity.
For this, he received a good scolding from Mrs. Weasley, who blamed him for not coming home during the holidays and said she would give him a good beating during the summer vacation.
However, Kyle wasn't worried at all.
Mrs. Weasley is easy to please; an apron handmade by Kyle and a nice final report card will guarantee no problems.
Kanna's gift was a pair of woolen gloves she had knitted herself, with Kyle's initials on them.
To Kyle's surprise, the little witch's cooking was unexpectedly good, and he quite liked it.
It fit perfectly when I put it on, and it went well with the sweater Mrs. Weasley had given him.
He gave Kanna a handbag with an anti-theft device, which should be very practical for her.
Fred gave him a bottle of disappearing ink, and George gave him a collection album of Chocolate Frog Card with blank transparent card sleeves inside, which was very convenient for storing the collected cards.
Kyle gave them a book called "Elementary Alchemy," which also served as the textbook for the alchemy course at Beauxbatons Academy of Magic.
He knew the twins had been inventing some joke gadgets lately, and this book should be helpful to them.
And his two lovely roommates.
Mikel gave him an exquisite gold brooch, Ryan gave him a set of Wizard's Chess.
To Kyle's surprise, he even received a gift from the professor.
Professor Flitwick gave Kyle his school notebooks, two thick notebooks from first to third grade, filled with his understanding of spells.
This gift is truly precious.
Kyle felt a little guilty because the gift he gave Professor Flitwick was just a simple sapwood amulet.
In fact, Kyle gave gifts to every professor.
Professor Flitwick's talisman.
Professor McGonagall was teaching a hat shaped like a Golden Snitch.
Professor Sprout is a tool maintenance kit.
Professor Oren is a walking stick.
Professor Binns is a clipping from "The Three Major Magical Academies of Europe: Professors' Treatment".
Headmaster Dumbledore is the author of the book "One Hundred Ways to Knit Wool Socks".
Of course, there was also Professor Snape, who had been very kind to him recently. To express his gratitude, Kyle specially gave him a whole case of Sleekeazy's Hair Potion.
However, he didn't sign the gift or use Ladon's name. Instead, he randomly picked an owl from the school to deliver it to the Owl Post Office in Diagon Alley, from where it was sent to Professor Snape.
Although the process was a little troublesome, it was all worth it.
I'm sure Snape would be very touched to receive this gift.
After carefully putting away Professor Flitwick's notes, Kyle opened the last gift, which was from Diana.
It was a silver ring decorated with a crescent moon, and below it was a short letter:
"This is a magical item that can cast Apparition three times. If you encounter danger, just infuse it with magic and concentrate on imagining the target location, and it will take you away."
Note: It cannot be used inside Hogwarts Castle, but it can be used once you leave the castle. You can also use it to go home if you don't want to take the train during your vacation.
(I hope you like this gift, darling.)
Merry Chrismas.)"
Is this an upgraded Portkey?
As soon as Kyle put the ring on his finger, it automatically settled into his skin. Kyle tried moving his finger a little and found that he felt no discomfort.
Kyle loved the gift.
He had always wanted to learn Apparition, but because he was too young, neither Chris nor Newt would teach him.
This ring is arguably the most satisfying Christmas gift he has received in eleven years.
The number of times was a bit low, only three.
Thirty times would be great.
Kyle cleaned the dorm room and went to the common room. There, Kanna was standing on tiptoe, digging at something in a large flowerpot.
"What are you looking for? Do you need help?" Kyle asked.
"No need, I've already found it." Kanna took a dirty cloth bag out of the flowerpot, turned around and said, "Thank you for the Christmas present, I really needed it."
Kyle watched as she took two Galleon from her bag and then put them back into the handbag he had given her, and asked in confusion:
"Are you still losing Galleon lately?"
"No more," Kanna shook her head. "But I lost two Sickle yesterday afternoon."
Isn't that the same thing?
Kyle frowned and asked, "Where are your roommates? Have they all gone home?"
"Yeah, they've all gone back. I'm all alone in the dorm now," Kanna said excitedly. "But they sent me a gift— Muggle hair clip, it's so pretty!"
Kyle rubbed his forehead, about to say something, when Kanna had already rushed back to her dorm.
When she returned, she was carrying a small wooden box.
"Look, isn't it beautiful?" Kanna handed the box to Kyle.
Inside were seven or eight brightly colored hair clips, whose styles and designs were indeed much more novel than those in the Wizarding World.
However, Kyle wasn't interested in these things; he only glanced at them briefly before preparing to return them to Kanna.
But just then, he suddenly noticed a small bottle under the hairpins. Out of curiosity, he reached out and removed the hairpins covering it.
"What is this thing... Holy crap?"
Kyle's hand suddenly trembled, and he almost dropped the box. He was so frightened that he broke out in a cold sweat and quickly placed the box on the wooden table next to him.
After calming down a bit, Kyle carefully reached out and took the bottle out.
