Background / History
Hong Ming died of sudden cardiac arrest after frequent overtime in his previous life, then awakened as the eldest grandson of the impoverished Hong Family. He retained fragmented memories of being robbed while transporting goods; he recognized the attacker as the local scoundrel Liu Hu and concealed the resulting debt of ten taels of silver from his family. 1
His new life began under immediate pressure. The Hong Family had been poor for two generations, his former employer would no longer hire him, and the lost shipment left him indebted. Instructor Huang Chun also attempted to leverage promised cultivation resources into coercive control over him. 1 5 16
After awakening the Child of Luck Fate and the ability to perceive entries, Hong Ming turned his efforts toward earning money, cultivating, and protecting his family. He took work rowing boats and harvesting clams, used Treasure Fish and medicinal resources to accelerate his training, and reached Bright Force before his Fate deadline. 2 6 18 20
Personality
Hong Ming is strongly family-oriented. He treats supporting the Hong household as an obligation rather than a favor, pays protection fees for his grandfather, and later returns Su Qiang's emergency loan as soon as he can. 5 23
He is practical and opportunistic when survival demands it. He accepts Qian Biao's lost money as ill-gotten wealth, exploits the power of entries, and uses hostile opponents' mistakes to acquire resources and opportunities. 4 27 34
Despite his pragmatism, he maintains firm boundaries in matters of allegiance and personal autonomy. He refuses Zhou Min's lucrative recruitment offer, rejects Huang Tianfang's gifts and invitation, and later refuses recruitment from multiple powerful factions. 36 68 108
He is also patient under provocation. He declines Wang Heng's hostile sparring challenge rather than fight on the other man's terms, yet later defeats Wang Heng decisively in an official match. 51 54

Word Master and Entry Solidification
Hong Ming can detect entries associated with people and objects, then use Luck to solidify eligible entries for himself. Entries vary by object, quality, and number, and physical contact is required to inspect them. 3
