Background / History

Jiang Xuan is Jiang Yingfeng’s adopted son and a River Bureau Squad Leader. Before the Commander candidate selection, he was considered a capable Dark Force contender, though veteran Dark Force martial artists such as Huang Tianfang and Wang Zhendong were ranked above him 106 108.

Before the selection, Jiang Xuan received Hong Ming on Jiang Yingfeng’s behalf and convened a meeting with Instructor Lin Zhen and Vice Commander Zhou Yuan. He proposed that the candidates form an alliance, but Zhou Yuan openly reframed the arrangement as supporting Jiang Xuan’s bid for first place. Lin Zhen accepted, while Hong Ming refused to join 108.

During the initial screening, Jiang Yingfeng covertly made Jiang Xuan’s test easier, allowing him to pass while maintaining the appearance that the assessment had been difficult. Jiang Xuan later suspected that Jiang Yingfeng had also permitted Hong Ming to advance so that Jiang Xuan could personally eliminate him 109.

In the second round, Jiang Xuan’s Transformation Force Pill took effect during his battle with Wu Lianzhou, forcing an unexpected breakthrough. Jiang Yingfeng intervened to suspend the match and ensured that Jiang Xuan could complete the advance; in exchange, Jiang Xuan was barred from using weapons when the battle resumed. He ultimately defeated Wu Lianzhou despite fighting barehanded 110 111.

After stabilizing his realm, Jiang Xuan defeated Huang Tianfang with Frost Sky Fist Force and entered the final against Hong Ming. He was unable to complete the same technique after Hong Ming interrupted and disarmed him, then lost consciousness after Hong Ming’s decisive counterattack 111 112.

Personality

Jiang Xuan is ambitious and politically conscious. Although he initially spoke of mutual aid among Commander candidates, he readily accepted Zhou Yuan’s proposal that the group should instead elevate him to the top position, promising rewards after success 108.

He is bold to the point of recklessness in pursuit of power. When his pill-induced breakthrough began during combat, he chose Transformation Force over preserving his immediate chance at the Commander position, trusting that authority could be gained later through Jiang Yingfeng’s backing 110.

Jiang Xuan is also highly confident in his own judgment. Before facing Hong Ming, he dismissed Hong Ming’s earlier wins as luck and assumed that provocation and psychological tactics were the only reasons Hong Ming had reached the final 112.

Transformation Force

Jiang Xuan became a Transformation Force martial artist during the Commander candidate selection.

Frost Sky Fist

Jiang Xuan is proficient in the River Bureau’s Frost Sky Fist and can apply it with Transformation Force.
