Nereus helped survivors escape God Valley, gathered allies, and seized the throne of Fish-Man Island. After reforming the island and preparing its forces, he raided Mary Geoise to free the slaves, leaving the World Government to repair the damage and manage the fallout.

Arc 1The Fall of God Valley

Nereus refused to join Rocks’s crew but allied with him to reach God Valley, where the Rocks Pirates attacked the Celestial Dragons’ gathering. As the battle raged, Nereus fought a regenerating Celestial Dragon and helped Kuma evacuate slaves and natives, leaving himself behind to rescue his fellow Fish-Man.

  • Nereus refused Rocks’s offer to join the Rocks Pirates, but later agreed to accompany him and Charlotte Linlin to God Valley for the treasure and Devil Fruits.
  • Nanamo and Katakuri avenged Brulee by defeating the Fat Bottle Pirates, and Nanamo chose to keep living with Nereus when Charlotte Linlin invited her to stay.
  • Nereus left Beehive Island with Babel and the Rocks Pirates, while his other crew members waited offshore, and Rocks revealed his identity and his family’s ties to God Valley to Harald.

Arc 2God Valley and the Lunarian

Nereus helped survivors escape God Valley, learned that Imu had controlled Rocks, and gathered people around him as the World Government erased the incident. He rescued Amphitrite from CP9, brought her aboard, and later intervened when a merchant ship tried to take a little Mermaid from Fish-Man Island.

  • Nereus and Babel rescued civilians from God Valley, where Nereus joined Garp and Roger in killing the controlled Rocks and learned that Imu had possessed him.
  • Nereus brought most of the survivors to his island, while Dragon began to imagine a revolution and the World Government erased records of God Valley.
  • Nereus’s crew sailed with Kaido, who challenged Nereus, while Dragon stayed behind and later declared that he would leave the Marines to pursue revolution.
  • Nereus rescued Amphitrite from CP9 after she fought to escape their capture, then killed the agents and recovered the Poneglyph bottle she had thrown into the sea.

Arc 3A New Era for Fish-Man Island

Nereus gathered new allies, rescued slaves, and confronted the World Government’s forces while pursuing resources and knowledge for Fish-Man Island. He launched a coup against King Pontus, learned the secret of Poseidon, and claimed the throne after killing Pontus in a duel.

  • Nereus recruited Fisher Tiger, visited MADS, met Dr. Clover, and brought Shark, Kuma, and Ginny into his circle while searching the South Blue for treasure.
  • Nereus found Brook in the Florian Triangle and welcomed him aboard after Brook agreed to join the crew and travel to Twin Capes.
  • Nereus’s crew attacked the Sabaody human auction house, freed the captives, and escaped despite Marine resistance.

Nereus consolidated his rule over Fish-Man Island, strengthened its military and trade, and built alliances while preparing for a larger confrontation. He then raided Mary Geoise to free its slaves, killed Salazar, and left the World Government focused on repairing the damage and managing the fallout.

  • Nereus became king of Fish-Man Island, freed kidnapped Mermaids, and began reforming the island’s military and administration.
  • Nereus formed the First Legion under Sebastian and Fisher Tiger, then recruited the Tontatta Tribe to cultivate Wobigon’s experimental seeds.
  • Nereus traveled to Dressrosa to arrange bounty payments and trade, but CP0’s attempt to capture Amphitrite ended with Nereus killing the agents and giving her the Phoenix Fruit.
