In the end, Tsunade took Uchiha Fucheng's advice. She had Jiraiya and Orochimaru's main forces focus on invading the key towns, pushing forward and capturing strongholds along the way.
Tsunade herself handled the cleanup of enemy forces in the surrounding areas and oversaw the construction of forward medical bases.
Uchiha Fucheng, meanwhile, led the Uchiha ninja and took on the task of dealing with Salamander Doshin's forces, effectively handling the entire "pacification campaign" himself.

A giant salamander three stories tall appeared on the small battlefield with a strange cry.
Even the Uchiha ninja across from him were startled by the enormous summon.
Several people cried out in surprise over the walkie-talkie. "We need backup! We need backup! A giant summon three stories tall has appeared at point B, battlefield coordinates 11-2!"
Hearing their cries, Salamander Doshin grew even more excited.
He leaped onto the giant salamander's head, a menacing grin on his face as he taunted them.
"Go on, scream! Shout! You Konoha Uchiha demons—I'll melt every last bit of your flesh and bone!"
That vicious grin lasted less than a second.
From the front of the giant salamander, dazzling flashes like lightning appeared at the twelve o'clock, one o'clock, and four o'clock positions.
Seventy percent power, Misaka Network, Degraded Railgun attack.
First shot!
Second shot!
The third shot hit!
First came three flashes of light.
Then, after the explosion, the thunderous boom arrived a beat later.
Three coins crackling with electricity slammed into the giant summon, piercing its neck, chest, and abdomen.
Red-and-green blood and scales blasted apart by the railguns flew everywhere.
The giant salamander, which had been swaggering moments earlier, was left completely dazed by the three Railgun shots.
