Background

Tang San was reborn alongside several future Shrek companions, retaining memories of his prior life. Upon awakening, he activated the Seagod and Asura godhood seeds, reached level 20, and gained an evolved Blue Silver King martial soul. He resolved to exceed his former achievements and prevent the world-destroying sword. 23

In his previous life, he had elevated the Sea God's divine position to Divine King rank, implemented plans spanning ten thousand years, and placed his descendants in important Divine Realm posts. He regarded himself as the king among Divine Kings before a single sword strike destroyed the Great God Circle and everything he had established. 23

He disclosed his rebirth to his father, Tang Hao, presenting both the Clear Sky Hammer and Blue Silver King. Tang Hao accepted him emotionally and became supportive of his plans; together, they attributed Tang San's abnormal knowledge and talent to a divine oracle. 24 27

Although he had privately reached level 20, Tang San allowed Martial Soul Hall to conduct his formal awakening ceremony. He concealed his true cultivation and Clear Sky Hammer, publicly displaying only Blue Silver Grass and Innate Full Soul Power. 25 27

He initially left the remaining immortal herbs untouched because his group lacked a Soul Tool capable of preserving living plants. Following coercion by Qian Renxue's group, Tang San surrendered Ah Yin's Hundred Thousand Year Soul Bone. Li Taibai's demand for Ah Yin herself hardened Tang San's resolve to cultivate rapidly, resurrect Ah Yin, and seek revenge against Martial Soul Hall, Qian Renxue, and Li Taibai. 53 54

At Notting Academy, he reunited with Xiao Wu and met again with the reborn Ning Rongrong. Tang San urged them to control their own fate and build strength through unity. By this point, his early use of immortal herbs and soul-ring absorption had raised him to level 27. 58

He identified the Continental Advanced Soul Master Tournament seven years later as a turning point in their destinies and proposed leaving for Shrek once Xiao Wu and Ning Rongrong reached Soul Elder rank. After entering Hell Road with Li Taibai's group, he was forced to scout its hazards while restrained, but used the Eight Spider Lances to attempt an escape before reaching the Asura God's inheritance space. 298 300 301

The Asura God found Tang San especially notable because his soul contained both the Asura and Sea God seeds as well as memories of becoming a dual God King in his previous life. Rather than immediately selecting an inheritor, the Asura God granted Tang San the Asura's Nine Trials alongside the other candidates; Tang San thereafter planned to secure the Asura Demon Sword for Tang Chen and advance to the ninth trial. 302

Following his later ascension as the Sea God, Tang San joined the Shrek Seven Gods in war against Spirit Hall. His conviction that he could repeat the success of his previous life was shaken by Spirit Hall's hidden strength and Qian Renxue's superior dual-martial-soul foundation. 259 260 268

After separating from the other Asura trial candidates, Tang San sought Xiao Wu at the Lake of Life. The Lake of Life confrontation was deliberately arranged after Qian Renxue asked Gu Yuena to complicate his reunion with Xiao Wu. Gu Yuena contacted Di Tian, who instructed Xiong Jun to test Tang San through battle without injuring his vital points or killing him. 304

During the Sea God divine trials, Tang San invoked his direct relationship to Tang Chen to seek Qian Daoliu's protection for himself and the Shrek group. Although Qian Daoliu recognized the calculation behind the appeal, he agreed to protect them until their trials were complete. 330

Tang San later adopted an outwardly affectionate approach toward Qian Renxue while privately planning to manipulate her and use her faction to advance toward Divine King rank. Lake of Life Search

After escaping the other trial candidates, Tang San goes to the Lake of Life in search of Xiao Wu. His near-death condition awakens hidden Asura power and revives Divine Slaughter's Domain, temporarily giving him peak rank-97 combat strength. Despite this recovery, he recognizes that he cannot defeat both beasts and seeks a peaceful resolution because of their importance to Xiao Wu. Her appearance confirms their bond, but Xiong Jun's restraint provokes renewed hostility and a demand that he release her. 307

Xiong Jun then challenges Tang San to prove his declaration that he and Xiao Wu truly love one another and would never abandon each other, dismissing human professions of affection as untrustworthy. 308

Tang San fights Qian Renxue above Jiayu Pass while Tang Hao and Yu Xiaogang order the Heaven Dou Allied Army to attack the fortress, hoping pressure on Spirit Hall will distract her and create an opening. The divine duel continues for two hours across the clouds, ocean, and surrounding battlefields, with Tang San initially maintaining abundant divine power. 360 361

Following the destruction of his divine heart, Xiao Wu carries the critically injured Tang San away as Bibi Dong pursues them. Chen Xin and Gu Rong make a final stand to delay the Rakshasa God but are killed instantly. Tang San's remaining life aura disappears, and Bibi Dong declares a three-day deadline for the Heaven Dou Allied Army's surrender. 362

A seven-colored divine light subsequently descends over his body. The Food God and Goddess of Nine Colors resurrect him, restoring his divine soul and power while his Asura authority begins to dominate his Sea God authority. Bibi Dong immediately attacks, but the revived Tang San withstands her Rakshasa Demon Scythe assaults and gradually overwhelms her. 363 364

Qian Renxue joins Bibi Dong, forcing Tang San onto the defensive and prompting him to draw the Asura Demon Sword. His ensuing Dual God Fusion produces coordinated Sea God and Asura forms whose shared intent gradually overcomes the two opponents' cooperation. 364 366

When the women unleash their strongest attacks, his Sea God form uses the Seagod Trident's thirteenth form to redirect Qian Renxue's sword strike into Bibi Dong's attack. His Asura form exploits Qian Renxue's exhaustion to wound her from behind, then approaches Bibi Dong while her concern for Qian Renxue leaves her exposed. 366

By the later aftermath, Tang San is himself gravely wounded: his divine armor is ruined, his Sea God and Asura powers are in chaos, and less than a tenth remains.
