Background

Tang San was reborn alongside several future Shrek companions, retaining memories of his prior life. Upon awakening, he activated the Seagod and Asura godhood seeds, reached level 20, and gained an evolved Blue Silver King martial soul. He resolved to exceed his former achievements and prevent the world-destroying sword. 23

He disclosed his rebirth to his father, Tang Hao, presenting both the Clear Sky Hammer and Blue Silver King. Tang Hao accepted him emotionally and became supportive of his plans; together, they attributed Tang San's abnormal knowledge and talent to a divine oracle. 24 27

Although he had privately reached level 20, Tang San allowed Martial Soul Hall to conduct his formal awakening ceremony. He concealed his true cultivation and Clear Sky Hammer, publicly displaying only Blue Silver Grass and Innate Full Soul Power. 25 27

Tang San intended to reach the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well ahead of schedule, both to heal Tang Hao and reinforce his own foundation. With Tang Hao and Tang Xiao, he later entered the well, tempered his body against its opposing ice-and-fire forces, and harvested herbs for the Clear Sky Sect. 25 42

Following coercion by Qian Renxue's group, Tang San surrendered Ah Yin's Hundred Thousand Year Soul Bone. Li Taibai's demand for Ah Yin herself hardened Tang San's resolve to cultivate rapidly, resurrect Ah Yin, and seek revenge against Martial Soul Hall, Qian Renxue, and Li Taibai. 53 54

At Notting Academy, he reunited with Xiao Wu and met again with the reborn Ning Rongrong. Tang San urged them to control their own fate and build strength through unity. By this point, his early use of immortal herbs and soul-ring absorption had raised him to level 27. 58

After reaching Slaughter City, Tang San sought one hundred consecutive victories and Divine Slaughter's Domain so that he could begin the Asura God's trial. Li Taibai, Ling Feng, and Ye Fan repeatedly targeted and humiliated him there, while Tang Chen was coerced into assisting Tang San and several others in obtaining their victories. 225 226 227 228

Following his later ascension as the Sea God, Tang San joined the Shrek Seven Gods in war against Spirit Hall. His conviction that he could repeat the success of his previous life was shaken by Spirit Hall's hidden strength and Qian Renxue's superior dual-martial-soul foundation. 259 260 268

Appearance

Tang San is a nine-year-old boy during the period in which he is documented as a level-46 Soul Ancestor. 100

  • Wields an ink-black Clear Sky Hammer. 24
  • His Blue Silver martial soul initially appears as a vibrant Blue Silver King carrying a kingly aura. 24
  • The Blue Silver martial soul later evolves into the Blue Silver Emperor. 100
  • By age fifteen, he is documented as a level-86 Soul Douluo with Twin Martial Souls. 227

Personality

Tang San is strategic, patient, and unusually mature for his age, planning long-term steps rather than rushing back to the Clear Sky Sect despite Tang Hao's enthusiasm. 24 25

He is intensely protective of his father, Xiao Wu, and the Shrek Seven Devils. His concern for injured teammates can affect his focus in battle, but he repeatedly endures humiliation and danger rather than abandon them. 107 202 214

His experiences with Qian Renxue, Li Taibai, and Martial Soul Hall leave him driven by vengeance, though he remains capable of restraint when survival or his companions' safety demands it. 54 105 202

Tang San's restraint is pragmatic rather than forgiving. He accepts humiliation to save his companions and postpones retaliation when outmatched, but internally vows extreme revenge against those who harm his allies. 205 225 226

As a god, his pride and anger become increasingly destructive. After Golden Crocodile Douluo publicly challenges his authority, Tang San unleashes a battlefield-wide ice-spike attack that kills more than a thousand low-ranking Spirit Hall Soul Masters. 259 260

He can also become desperate when faced with overwhelming odds, sacrificing marine life and eventually burning his divine position to replenish the Shrek side's strength against Qian Renxue. 273 274

Abilities & Skills

Twin Martial Souls

Tang San possesses the Clear Sky Hammer and Blue Silver Emperor, a rare dual-martial-soul combination. 24 100

  • Clear Sky Hammer — Used to resist Li Taibai's giant Green Lotus Sword phantom. 217
  • Blue Silver Emperor — Evolved from Blue Silver Grass after receiving recognition from the Blue Silver Forest. 100
  • Blue Silver Overlord Spear — His first soul skill, which weaves Blue Silver Grass into a jet-black spear for direct combat. 214
  • Blue Silver Cage — Creates a restraining formation of Blue Silver Grass within his Blue Silver Domain. 215
  • Blue Silver Healing — Uses Blue Silver Grass to supply life force and rapidly heal his wounds. 214
  • Although Tang San possesses Twin Martial Souls, he normally switches between them rather than manifesting both simultaneously. 217 268
  • Clear Sky Hammer soul rings — By his final confrontation with Qian Renxue, the hammer bears nine crimson hundred-thousand-year soul rings. 274

Divine Inheritance and Divine Sense

Tang San carries the Seagod and Asura godhood seeds and later acts from the Divine Realm. 23 177

  • Divine-sense projection — A consciousness planted in Wang Dong'er activates to save her life and battles Qian Renxue. 173
  • Star Shifting — A divine technique used against Qian Renxue; she counterattacks before he can redirect her sword aura. 175
  • His divine-sense projection is ultimately destroyed by Qian Renxue's colossal golden sword. 175
  • A separate divine-sense remnant left in Wang Qiuer is destroyed and refined by Gu Yuena. 135
  • True-body descent — Tang San later descends personally as a dual divine inheritor to intervene against Qian Renxue and Gu Yuena. 177
  • Two Gods in One — Xiao Wu merges her divine soul and power into Tang San, allowing him to surpass the combat level of an ordinary divine official and enter the third-level god realm. 263

Sea God and Asura Abilities

As the Sea God, Tang San wields the Seagod Trident and commands large-scale water-element divine power. 259 260

  • Controlling Crane Capturing Dragon — Recalls the Seagod Trident to his hand after it is knocked away. 259
  • Azure Sea Rippling Sky — Expands his Sea God divine power across the sky and surrounding clouds, creating an ocean-like divine field. 179
  • Sea God's Light — Restores divine power to his allies during the prolonged battle at sea. 273
  • Sea's Eternal Resonance — Draws energy from sea creatures across a hundred-li sea region, though using it destabilizes his Sea God status and devastates the affected marine life. 273
  • Asura Demon Sword — An Asura divine artifact wielded alongside the Seagod Trident in his final battle against Qian Renxue. 274
  • Ring detonation and divine-position burning — Detonates soul rings from both martial souls and burns his Sea God divine position to force his strength into the second-level god realm. 274

Hidden Weapons

Tang San employs hidden weapons against Li Taibai.

  • Li Taibai's superior cultivation allows him to evade and mock these attacks. 107
  • Their effectiveness is limited when the opponent's speed and cultivation vastly exceed Tang San's. 107
  • Purple Demon Eye — Enhances his visual perception, allowing him to track Li Taibai's movements. 107
  • Mysterious Jade Hand — Hardens his hands while launching hidden weapons. 107
  • Mysterious Heaven Skill — His internal cultivation technique, used to drive his soul power and movement techniques. 107
  • Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track — A footwork technique that leaves afterimages and changes his position unpredictably. 107

Battle Leadership

Tang San coordinates with the Shrek Seven Devils and prioritizes decisive openings over direct confrontation with stronger opponents. 213

  • Supports group tactics against Martial Soul Hall opponents. 214 217
  • Shares a life-and-death pact with Xiao Wu in an attempted strike against Li Taibai. 218
  • His resolve to protect teammates drives him to push beyond his limits. 217
  • During the conflict on Douluo Planet, he directs the Shrek Seven Devils in a coordinated divine assault on Spirit Hall's formation. 260
  • He draws on the divine power of Xiao Wu and the other Shrek gods to withstand Qian Renxue's attacks. 268 269
