Background

Cai Lin first appears as the feared Queen Medusa of the Snake People Clan, an eight-star Dou Emperor ruling the Tagor Desert. When Ice Emperor Hai Bodong attempts to claim a map connected to the Purifying Demonic Lotus Flame, she refuses to yield and seals his Dou Qi with the Serpent Seal Curse, reducing him to the Dou Ling realm. 66

Her younger sister, Cai Die, had escaped the Snake People Clan and lost her memories. When Cai Die is drawn back toward the clan’s temple and impulsively enters the Green Lotus Core Flame, Cai Lin transforms into her true serpent form and follows her into the flames to share her sister’s suffering. After reawakening in human form, Cai Lin explains that she had previously protected Cai Die from repeated attempts on her life within the Snake People Clan.
