Background / History

Qian Daoliu serves as the Great Elder of the Angel Legion and High Priest of the Angel God. Though formerly the Pope of Martial Soul Hall, he abdicated long before the events of the story and instead devotes himself to the Worship Hall and the Angel God's statue. 2 16 20

When Qin Heng's innate level 20 soul power is publicly exposed, Qian Daoliu immediately leaves the Worship Hall for the Pope Palace. There, he unexpectedly hears Qin Heng's inner voice and learns fragments of a possible future involving his own sacrifice, Qian Renxue, Bibi Dong, and Qin Heng's failed attempt to preserve his soul. 2 3

Qin Heng rejects Bibi Dong as a master because of her instability and chooses Qian Daoliu as a more dependable protector. Qian Daoliu accepts him as a disciple, but compromises with Bibi Dong by allowing Qin Heng to spend three days per week in the Pope Palace. He does so partly because Martial Soul Hall needs Bibi Dong's strength and partly because her future willingness to die for Qian Renxue convinces him that she still cares for her daughter. 3

He values integrity and disapproves of coercive or underhanded methods, even when he permits Qin Heng to pursue them for Martial Soul Hall's benefit. Expanding Martial Soul Hall's Strength

Qian Daoliu converts the Soul Core method into a tool for recruitment and advancement. He recruits Dugu Bo, Yue Guan, Gui Mei, and the Ye Clan; aids Dugu Bo and Ye Renxin in breaking through; and assigns the Ye and Dugu Clans to support Xue Qinghe's succession. 14 16

Supporting Qian Renxue
