"Huh? But this isn't even difficult?!"
The Rakshasa Phantom frowned, puzzled.
"They're just two six-ring Evil Soul Masters. Killing them is no different from killing two chickens to us."
"Then let me ask you this: is it important or not?"
The Rakshasa Phantom: "..." Wow. Times really had changed. Even an old fossil like Qian Yuhan was telling corny jokes now.
"Rakshasa, why aren't you saying anything?"
"Because I think that before you complete this mission, what you need most is to find a suitable excuse to slip out from under the little princess's nose."
With that, the Rakshasa Phantom pushed off Qian Yuhan's shoulder and leaped into the air. After an elegant 360-degree spin, it plunged soundlessly into the shadow beneath Qian Yuhan's feet with an exquisitely graceful diving pose.
That left Qian Yuhan alone, facing Xu Tianzhen, who had already come right up to him.
"Your Highness, what is it?" Qian Yuhan folded his arms across his chest and asked softly in his usual calm voice.
"You've been looking at that building for ages. Do you like it a lot?" Xu Tianzhen pointed at the old-fashioned building at the far end of Qian Yuhan's gaze. Under his slightly puzzled look, she earnestly unleashed the terrifying spending power of an imperial princess.
"Ta-da!"
She fished a black card, one reserved for high-ranking members of the imperial family, out of her Storage Soul Tool ring and stuffed it rather boldly into Qian Yuhan's palm. Then she waved her hand grandly.
"This is my allowance card. You can use it anywhere in the Sun Moon Empire. If you see something you like, just charge it to the card. Don't be shy."
"Huh?! (●__●)"
Looking at the black card in his palm, still holding a trace of warmth, Qian Yuhan froze for a moment. Then a hint of embarrassment crept across his face. He pressed his lips together, put the card back into Xu Tianzhen's hand, and earnestly explained, "I really was just looking."
"Aw, why are you being so formal with me? We're practically family!" As Xu Tianzhen spoke, she shot Meng Hongchen a provocative look with her bright, haughty eyes, as if staking her claim. Her aggressively pointed gaze clearly said:
Xiao Meng, you're not bad-looking, and you come from a good family, but compared with this princess, you're still just a tiny bit—well, a "billion" bits—behind.
Sorry, but when you've got money and status, you really can do whatever you want.
As for Meng Hongchen, she looked perfectly calm on the outside, but inside... she was green with envy.
Damn it, Xu Tianzhen, why did you get to have it so good?! How come I never got lucky enough to meet such a handsome younger brother?! I'm so mad I'm shaking.
Thanks to the microexpression-reading skills he'd picked up from living with his sister for years, Xiao Hongchen read the rich inner drama on Meng Hongchen's apparently placid face.
In that instant, Xiao Hongchen seemed to lose all his strength and all his options. He sighed and slowly looked away, thinking to himself, "..." Alas, what a disgrace to the family... what a disgrace.
As he thought this, Xiao Hongchen suddenly shifted his gaze and stared blankly at the busy corridor beside him, starting to consider how he might persuade his sister to go home.
That move happened to bring Qian Yuhan into view, less than ten paces away. His eye was twitching as he glanced around, just like Xiao Hongchen had.
Awkward eyes, tense expression, constantly glancing around, face stiff with discomfort. This younger brother seemed to be just like him—a poor soul immersed in a dreadful sea of suffering.
In an instant, a feeling known as men suffering together surged into Xiao Hongchen's heart. He decided he had to bravely do something to save this younger brother from his predicament.
Xiao Hongchen thought it, and he did it. He was certain his efforts would surely be rewarded.
The new junior he was about to rescue from danger would certainly be willing to spread the good name of his savior, this big brother who helped the helpless, among the new students.
And this was only the beginning.
One day, he would make his name as a soul tool genius and a super-invincible, benevolent big brother ring throughout the Sun-Moon Royal Soul Engineer Academy.
After that, he'd graduate with perfect marks, become an academy instructor, then head of education, then dean, and finally the head of Mingde Hall, just like his grandfather (cross that last part out). He'd lead the countless lackeys and devoted followers he'd gathered over the years, become a pillar of the empire, and reach the pinnacle of life...
Just imagining that glorious MVP end screen made his blood boil!
"Xiao Meng!" Xiao Hongchen called sharply, drawing his sister's attention back to him.
"What is it, brother?" Meng Hongchen turned toward him in confusion. She seemed to hear the firmness and unquestionable resolve in his voice as she looked at the brother beside her, who appeared to have become someone else.
"There are some things I absolutely have to take care of right now. Keep all this stuff for yourself!"
As he spoke, Xiao Hongchen stuffed the bags and bundles in his hands into Meng Hongchen's Storage Soul Tool and strode forward.
He left the bewildered Meng Hongchen gazing after his lonely yet imposing back.
"Wait, brother, where are you going?" Meng Hongchen sent her voice directly into Xiao Hongchen's ears.
"To do something every real man has to do!" Xiao Hongchen stopped and answered his sister, then continued striding forward.
His steps were so heavy, it was as if he were carrying a towering mountain on his shoulders.
Xu Tianzhen furrowed her brow, sensing that something was amiss.
What was Xiao Hongchen up to? Could that guy be a... and want to steal my future husband just like his sister?!
Good heavens, that Hongchen Family really was... quite a family...
Fierce.
Yes, fierce was the word!
Xu Tianzhen racked her brains for a long while before finally finding the word "fierce" to express her inner shock. But her eyes held nothing but fierce determination and pride!
After all... who was she?
She was the most doted-on princess in the Sun Moon Empire. She wasn't afraid! And she wouldn't back down!
With that thought, Xu Tianzhen put one hand in front of her chest and shielded her future consort with the other, glaring fiercely at Xiao Hongchen as he walked toward her.
Come on, Xiao Hongchen. Let this princess see what tricks you've got up your sleeve! Xu Tianzhen said to herself.
Don't be afraid, little brother. Your most reliable big brother Xiao is here to save you! Xiao Hongchen silently vowed as he saw Xu Tianzhen keeping Qian Yuhan behind her.
Meng Hongchen, feeling like the only outsider among the four all of a sudden:

Brother! Princess! What's gotten into you two?! Why has the atmosphere suddenly turned so strange?! (〇_o)
