Background / History
Di Tian belongs to the dragon race, whose former Dragon God controlled numerous laws and used them to support the creation of beast gods. Di Tian has himself comprehended laws, but heavenly restrictions prevent his return to god-level status despite his having met the necessary conditions. He fears that his exceptional talent will make his next heavenly tribulation especially dangerous 8 46.
When Bi Ji brings Liu Feng into the Star Dou Great Forest's core area, Di Tian examines the boy's affinity with heaven and earth. He recognizes that it benefits nearby soul beasts through a principle distinct from the Emperor Auspicious Beast's influence. He authorizes Liu Feng to live there, warning him not to venture deep into the Lake of Life 6.
Liu Feng's early comprehension of natural laws convinces Di Tian that the boy could eventually create his own god position. Di Tian proposes nurturing him into a god who might break the restrictions on soul-beast ascension. He subsequently ends the Great Beasts' quarrel over teaching priority and organizes them as Liu Feng's teachers 8 16 18.
Appearance
- Human form: A black-haired man with golden vertical pupils, generally maintaining a composed, impassive expression 34 50.
- Dragon form: An enormous Golden-Eyed Black Dragon with an ink-black body and a dark aura 44.
- Size: His true form exceeds one thousand meters in length during the attack on the Holy Spirit Cult's headquarters 110.
- Build: Zi Ji's dragon body is described as more slender than his 26.
Personality
Di Tian is restrained in speech but expects obedience. A single order from him stops the Great Beasts' brawl, and he rarely indulges hostile challenges. His protection of Liu Feng can be ruthless: he severely punishes Zi Ji for endangering the boy and later resolves to eliminate powerful enemies who could threaten Liu Feng's growth 18 35 46 107.
His pride initially leads him to dismiss Soul Tools as tricks and to question whether any human could surpass him. Experience changes that attitude. After confronting Shen Chong's devices, he encourages Liu Feng to study Soul Tools; he later insists that the fierce beasts learn useful human combat techniques 46 51 54 105.
Di Tian's investment in Liu Feng begins as a hope for the soul-beast faction, but develops into personal warmth and respect. Liu Feng's voluntary promise to help soul beasts moves him, and the boy's successful inventions convince him to stop treating Liu Feng merely as a child. He eventually grants Liu Feng full authority to represent the Beast Gods 50 101 103.
