Qin Xa entered the very bottom of the spire with a document in hand.

In the spire's hall, a hundred Custodes stood in a circular formation, guarding its entrance and exit.

Captain-General Valdor stood before the hundred Custodes, motionless as a statue, staring straight ahead.

The Custodes guarding this spire indicated that it had become the Master of Mankind's temporary residence.

As the greatest Psyker in human history, the Emperor needed neither protection nor a reason to leave his flagship, the Bucephalus, and find somewhere to stay in Commorragh.

Their selection of this spire as a temporary residence carried more political significance than anything else.

Wherever the Emperor himself stood was the Imperial Palace, was Imperial territory. Humanity was declaring to every Eldar who had arrived or would arrive that Commorragh would belong to humanity, or at least part of it would.

When Qin Xa entered the spire's hall, the Custodes all nodded in greeting at the same time, and Valdor, standing at the center, stepped aside to clear a path.

Qin Xa entered the transport platform leading to the top of the spire and arrived in an instant at its summit, two thousand kilometers above Commorragh's surface.

At the entrance to the sole room atop the tower, thirteen elite Custodes guarded the doorway. They all wore the Custodes' distinctive Aquilon-pattern Terminator Power Armor.

Upon seeing Qin Xa, the thirteen Custodes stepped aside.

As he used psychic power to push open the heavy doors, Qin Xa instinctively swept his gaze across the entire room.

The room was not large, only around thirty square meters.

Though luxuriously furnished, it was poorly lit.

Both the Emperor and Angron were in the room.
