Background / History

Yu Xiaogang was the son of Yu Yuanzhen, Sect Master of the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan. Upon awakening a Pig martial soul, he became the target of ridicule within the clan despite receiving exceptional resources because of his birth. His weak talent and preferential treatment created resentment among other disciples, while he increasingly interpreted criticism as proof that everyone looked down on him. 5 34

For five years, Yu Xiaogang remained at level 9 while devoting increasing attention to unverified martial soul theory rather than cultivation. His father supported him as long as possible but grew dissatisfied with his fixation on research and his growing estrangement from the clan. Yu Xiaogang blamed Bibi Dong for taking a thousand-year Diamond Fruit that he believed could have changed his innate deficiency, further widening the rift with Yu Yuanzhen. 34 35

After reaching level 10, Yu Xiaogang sought his first soul ring. A Soul Hunting Squad extorted him, manipulated his selection, and secretly substituted the Golden-Armored Armadillo Lizard he chose with a Golden-Armored Armadillo. He survived the difficult absorption of a nearly 300-year ring, but his first soul skill was an embarrassing flatulence ability; he hid it from others and fell into despair when it failed to improve his talent. 45 49 50

Unable to endure the clan's hostility, Yu Xiaogang left home. Luo Ying, assigned to protect him, deliberately arranged hardships and attacks to force him to return, but Yu Xiaogang survived the journey to Tiandou City. Yu Xiaogang was insecure, prideful, and intensely resentful of his perceived lack of recognition. He saw himself as a misunderstood genius and attributed many failures to others, even while relying on clan resources and refusing practical cultivation training that could strengthen his physique. 34 46 50

He possessed persistence under adversity, enduring repeated humiliation, robbery, and hardship rather than surrendering his ambition.
