Background / History
Yu Xiaogang was born as the son of Yu Yuanzhen, Sect Master of the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan and its only Titled Douluo. The clan expected him to inherit his father’s position and become its next Titled Douluo. This upbringing fostered his arrogance: he dismissed peers’ flattery and acknowledged elders only if they were Spirit Saints or stronger 3.
At age six, he awakened an externalized piglet-like Martial Soul and innate half-level soul power. Humiliated by the reaction of the gathered clansmen and representatives of major factions, he faked a fainting spell to escape the ceremony 4 9. Yu Yuanzhen nevertheless devoted substantial clan resources to him, allowing Yu Xiaogang to reach level 10 after four years 10.
Yu Xiaogang repeatedly attempted to evolve his Martial Soul through personally devised soul-ring routes. His first and second soul skills were both fart-based, despite his assurances that the rings would produce a positive mutation. Yu Yuanzhen concealed the failures while Yu Xiaogang publicly claimed that his Martial Soul had evolved into a dragon-type Martial Soul 12 14. Qian Xunji and Ning Heng eventually exposed the deception; after further years without progress and enduring clan ridicule, Yu Xiaogang left the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan vowing to prove himself 15.
After being expelled from Martial Soul Hall, Yu Xiaogang met Flender and Liu Erlong. Their Martial Soul Fusion Skill made the trio famous as the Golden Iron Triangle, which Yu Xiaogang sought to use to recover his standing within the clan 61. He later reunited with Flender in Suotuo City and accepted a vice-dean position at Flender’s Soul Master Academy 96.
Yu Xiaogang subsequently taught at Notting Academy, where he sought a gifted disciple to restore his reputation. Upon learning that Tang San possessed Innate Full Soul Power, he approached and accepted him as an apprentice 97 98. Tang San’s achievements later brought Yu Xiaogang recognition at Shrek Academy, where he became dean and published a foundational martial soul theory textbook after the war 99 103.
Following the Sky Screen’s conclusion, Yu Xiaogang consumed a Martial Soul Evolution Pill. His Martial Soul became a top-tier pig-like beast, but the evolution also transformed his body and voice into those of a woman. After Flender attacked her under the influence of the Martial Soul’s fragrance, the Rakshasa God possessed Yu Xiaogang and offered her a divine trial. Her first task was to kill Flender, which she accepted without hesitation 163 164.
Appearance
After the Martial Soul Evolution, Yu Xiaogang takes the form of a slender, fair-skinned woman whose face reportedly resembles his former appearance by roughly eighty percent 163.
- Wears a dark long dress and a mask concealing most of her face 163.
- Has cold eyes and an aloof, unapproachable bearing 163.
- Her evolved Martial Soul manifests as a white, silk-furred pig-like beast with golden forehead markings, amber pupils, and pink mist 163.
Personality
Yu Xiaogang is intensely prideful and craves acknowledgment for his theories, status, and teaching. Even after repeated public exposure, he continues to identify himself as a Grandmaster and claims credit for cultivating Tang San and the other future gods 58 103.
He is also manipulative and self-serving. He copied and altered basic Martial Soul Hall library materials, presenting them as personal theories to impress Bibi Dong, Flender, and Liu Erlong 58 61 62. When his schemes fail, he habitually shifts blame onto others, including Bibi Dong and Martial Soul Hall after his expulsion 60.
Following his transformation and Rakshasa God trial, his resentment becomes consuming. He immediately accepts the task of killing Flender, demonstrating that revenge has overtaken his former attachments 164.
