An awakened martial soul instinctively filters Natural Soul Power into attribute-based Bloodline Soul Power; the efficiency of this conversion helps determine a martial soul's grade and the cultivator's progress. Soul Rings and Soul Skills

Soul rings may be absorbed after reaching the required cultivation threshold, granting soul skills associated with the martial soul and selected soul beast.

• Yu Xiaogang reached Level 10 after four years of resource-intensive cultivation and sought his first soul ring from a Blunt-Armored Thunder-Pattern Badger 10 11.
• He selected the badger for its lightning affinity, defensive armor, and charging ability, expecting it to positively mutate Luo Sanpao 11.
• Instead, the resulting first soul skill was “Farting Like Thunder—Heaven-Shaking and Earth-Shattering Luo Sanpao,” undermining his expected evolution 11.

Evolution

Martial Soul Evolution can improve a martial soul's quality and may produce major changes in its wielder.

• The celestial screen lists Martial Soul Evolution as a possible reward, making it highly coveted by Soul Masters with limited or defective martial souls 2.
• Yu Xiaogang later consumed a Martial Soul Evolution Pill; his martial soul became a stronger pig-like beast with golden forehead patterns, amber pupils, and a pink mist 163.
• The evolution broke Yu Xiaogang's long-standing Level 29 bottleneck and raised him to Level 38, but also transformed his body and voice into those of a woman 163.

Martial Soul Shattering

Martial Soul Shattering destroys the martial soul to sever reliance on the conventional cultivation system. It is an extremely dangerous process, but it can permit direct perception and absorption of Natural Soul Power.

Risks

• Shattering releases violent soul power into the body, damaging meridians, bones, flesh, and blood 136.
• The most fatal consequence is mental backlash; many who survive physically still die after their consciousness collapses 136.
• Natural Soul Power is impure and violent. Improper absorption can cause the cultivator to explode and die 21.

Soul-Shattering Foundation Building Method

Yu Chen/Su Chen's alternative method uses the human body as a cauldron and Natural Soul Power as fuel to temper the body.

1. Perceive the Natural Soul Power of heaven and earth.
2. Guide it into the body and merge it through every part.
3. Temper the skin and meridians, then progressively the bones, muscles, and internal organs 26.

After shattering his own martial soul, Su Chen used its violent residual power to clear his meridians and perceived Natural Soul Power for the first time, formally entering this cultivation path 136 137.

Simulated Martial Souls

Su Chen can use residual Bloodline Soul Power to simulate the form of another person's martial soul.

• A simulated martial soul is only an empty shell and lacks a true martial soul's origin 33.
• Simulations cannot carry soul skills and cannot be directly used for combat 33.
