Background / History

Alos grew up in Gnome Village with his older brother William and younger sister Mishaer. With Mishaer bedridden and William regarded as mentally disabled, Alos worked as a waiter at Sailu Tavern despite being only fourteen. When travelers reported that William had died near an ogre tribe, Alos and Mishaer grieved through the night; even then, Alos continued bringing food home for his sister. 2

Before winter, Sailu intended to evacuate the village rather than leave guards behind. Alos begged to remain with Mishaer because her health could not withstand the journey, willing to risk his own life to protect her. His emotional shock upon discovering William had survived triggered the awakening of his Fire Bloodline. 4

During the winter, Alos helped William defend and maintain the village, cared for Mishaer, and began developing both magic and physical resilience. He often accompanied Phinia on hunts and later trained alongside Mishaer under William’s instruction. 7 12 16 17

After Elrago Habel offered magical mentorship as part of the Hell Hound-hide transaction, Alos awaited the arrival of a teacher from Longsaddle. Bella Daelry Habel eventually collected him from Mirabar, and he left with the Habel caravan to begin his magical training. 23 36 37

Appearance

Alos is a thin, pale boy with naturally fiery-red curls. His Fire Bloodline awakening temporarily burned away his hair; when it regrew, the bloodline’s characteristic fiery-red color remained. 2 5

Alos is responsible and deeply devoted to his family. He prioritizes Mishaer’s safety even when Sailu warns that remaining in the village would likely get both children killed. He also assists with household work, stable duties, winter preparation, and hunting. 4 5 7 12

He is excitable, proud, and prone to dramatic boasting about his potential as a future great spellcaster. His failure to levitate Mishaer’s Horn of Kor embarrasses him enough that he avoids her for days, though he continues trying to explain the artifact’s resistance. 20

Alos has a habit of gathering practical knowledge from tavern patrons and passing adventurers. This knowledge proves valuable when he identifies fire as the means to permanently kill a Troll. 8 14
