Background / History

Chen Jinyang was a blade specialist from another world who worked as a mercenary and hitman after his homeland became too stable for someone whose skills centered on killing. He concealed his superhuman abilities until a rescue mission exposed his extraordinary jumping ability, drawing the attention of organizations that pursued him for three years. After a failed attempt to force a martial breakthrough left him nearly paralyzed, he ended his flight with a “firework.” 1

He awakened in a cold forest inside the body of William, a powerful but previously untrained young lumberjack. Although his old injuries were healed, he initially could not circulate his former qi and had to rely on his martial experience and William's natural strength to survive, including killing an Ogre. 1

William's memories revealed that the body carried a latent fire bloodline, awakened after a griffin-like monster's fire attack destroyed William's soul. Chen accepted the merged identity and resolved to live as both men, returning to Gnome Village to protect William's younger siblings, Alos and Mishaer. 2 3

To avoid suspicion over William's sudden intelligence and combat ability, Chen Jinyang maintained the village's belief that he was simple-minded. He gradually established a home with the siblings, trained his martial arts and bloodline power, and prepared the family for winter. 4 6
