"Malcanthet?" Solam tilted his head and spoke with some surprise. Solam was not particularly shocked that Malcanthet had turned against him. What truly surprised him was how quickly her attack had come. "Why was she so impatient? It made no sense."

Among all the Abyssal powers, Malcanthet was perhaps the one most lacking in resolve. She rarely made all-or-nothing decisions. Even after gaining the power of the Pearl of Greed, her personality had not improved much in that regard. Malcanthet had always been an extreme hedonist, concerned only with her own beauty and desires, with little interest in things like hegemony. Though the rapidly growing power she gained from the Pearl of Greed had awakened her ambition to dominate the Abyss, Rome was not built in a day. A person's nature was not so easily changed.

Turning against Solam was no trivial matter. As had been said before, Solam's strength ranked among the foremost in the entire Abyss. Rashly turning against him would require immense courage from Malcanthet. After all, if they truly fought each other to a standstill, it would only give the other powers an opportunity.

Horus looked at the other Sons of Solam and saw that none of them had any desire to speak, so he could only clear his throat twice and step forward.

"I think... it was because you were unconscious for too long, and because the commotion you caused was too great. You may not know this, but after you fell unconscious, several waves of envoys were sent to ask what exactly had happened. With those two factors combined, it was no wonder Malcanthet could no longer sit still. In fact, it isn't only Malcanthet. The other demon powers have more or less made moves as well; Malcanthet was simply faster."

Solam suddenly understood.
