Background / History

Following the Nine-Tails attack, the Uchiha faced intensified pressure from Konoha's leadership while being blamed and distrusted by the village. The proposed forced relocation of their compound was tied to plans to sell their land and address Konoha's reconstruction funding shortfall. 4 13

The clan's conflict with Root escalated when Uchiha shinobi intervened in the escort of frightened villagers, realizing that the scene would make civilians see them as enemies. Root then attempted to take custody of the villagers, resulting in a public clash with the Uchiha. 6

Uchiha Fugaku and the elders began investigating illegal property seizures and Root activity in the Shanty Town. Their attempt to expose the scheme led to an open confrontation with Root and increased hostility with Hiruzen Sarutobi's faction. 10 14 16

The clan was increasingly isolated from Konoha's political center and constrained within the Military Police Force. Under Hiruzen's administration, its members were ordered to reinforce the Eastern Front against Kirigakure, despite Fire Release being poorly matched against Water Release. 30 34 95

After Orochimaru's victory against Kumogakure, the Uchiha openly shifted toward supporting him as the prospective Fifth Hokage. The clan trained intensely while under heightened Anbu and Root surveillance. 95 96

During the First Konoha Civil War, Uchiha Itachi rallied the clan against Hiruzen Sarutobi's prohibition and led its forces to the East Gate. The Uchiha joined the Hyuga clan in support of Orochimaru, decisively breaking the remaining resistance of the Sarutobi and Utatane forces. 144 145 149

Appearance

Uchiha shinobi are commonly depicted in uniform clan attire and are visually distinguished in battle by the red eyes of the activated Sharingan. 16
