Background

Wang Dong'er initially encountered Ji Siyuan and Huo Yuhao while eating alone. She reacted harshly to Ji Siyuan's staring, unaware that he had mistaken her resemblance for that of an elder from his own world. She later joined the Tang Sect after Tang Ya introduced its history and methods, though her early interactions with Ji Siyuan remained combative and competitive. 9 10

She grew close to Ji Siyuan and invited him to Clear Sky Sect so that she could obtain her third Soul Ring through her family's special method rather than by killing a soul beast. At Clear Sky Castle, Da Ming and Er Ming—whom she calls First Dad and Second Dad—treated Ji Siyuan as a possible future son-in-law, while Dong'er insisted that he was only her friend. 59 63 64

Her biological history was later revealed to be the source of her recurring crisis. Her soul had been forcibly split by the Tang San of this world, leaving part of it within Di Qiu'er and placing Dong'er at risk of falling into endless slumber. Tang San from Ji Siyuan's world used a Lotus Seed to restore her incomplete soul; afterward, Dong'er accepted him as her father. 216 217

Ji Siyuan planted a Sea God's divine-position seed in her mind and gave up the Sea God's inheritance in her favor because of her superior affinity with its divine power.
