Bei Bei stepped forward, and a brilliant golden radiance erupted from his fingertips.
He tapped the center of Tang Ya's brow, and the ultimate power of light rapidly awakened her consciousness, allowing her to recover.
"I... I don't want to become an Evil Soul Master." Tang Ya looked at the forest she had unconsciously destroyed over a large area, saying with a hint of terror.
"What do you think an Evil Soul Master actually is?" Bei Bei slowly crouched down, placing a palm on Tang Ya's shoulder as he asked.
The aura of light radiating from his body effectively suppressed Tang Ya's panicked emotions, bringing peace and tranquility to her heart.
"An Evil Soul Master is just an Evil Soul Master; they are all villains who commit every conceivable crime," Tang Ya said. This was how the vast majority of soul masters in the world perceived them.
"Then do you think I am an Evil Soul Master?" Bei Bei asked.
"How could that be..." Tang Ya did not finish her sentence, but her eyes were filled with disbelief.
At this moment, Bei Bei's aura changed drastically. His golden hair turned as black as ink, and within his golden pupils, a pitch-black scale emerged on his forehead.
Surrounding his body were various evil and negative auras: darkness, deathly stillness, and devouring.
"What about now! Am I an Evil Soul Master?" Bei Bei revealed his second martial soul, the Dark Sacred Dragon!
"Why did you guide me to unearth this power? What exactly is your purpose?" Tang Ya's thoughts were in total chaos.
Bei Bei slowly dissipated the Dark Sacred Dragon martial soul, returning to the smiling youth whose body radiated a warmth like the spring sun.
"I only wanted you to recognize your own power. This is your talent; your Blue Silver Grass carries dark elements, giving you the means to devour life energy," Bei Bei laughed. "Even without me, you would have discovered this power eventually."
"When you realize that your own talent is not enough to avenge your parents, what will you do?"
"When your cultivation is slowly surpassed by those around you, your sensitive heart will lead you to make the wrong choice."
"You would surely practice this talent in secret, then go to seek revenge alone, only to be blinded by hatred and eventually fall into becoming an Evil Soul Master."
Bei Bei continued, "I brought you here today and let you see your true self to prevent you from walking down an evil path in the future."
Bei Bei felt a deep sense of pity for Tang Ya.
If he could prevent some unfortunate encounters, he hoped to do so.
"What should I do?" Tang Ya asked. She had completely lost her composure and could only look to Bei Bei for help. Her eyes were slightly red, making her appear pitiful.
"Do not be afraid. Accept your own power; this is your talent, a gift bestowed upon you by the heavens. You should not fear it or resist it, but rather accept it calmly," Bei Bei said earnestly.
Bei Bei held Tang Ya's cold little hand, offering her a trace of warmth and comfort.
"But I will become an Evil Soul Master," Tang Ya said with great resistance.
"Will you devour the life force of others to cultivate?" Bei Bei asked.
"No," Tang Ya shook her head.
"Then what are you afraid of? As long as you do not harm life, are not corrupted by evil thoughts, and do not become depraved, you will not be an Evil Soul Master." Bei Bei stepped forward and helped Tang Ya up.
Bei Bei continued, "In my view, martial souls themselves have no distinction between good and evil. When a soul master cultivates through evil means, their martial soul will gradually lean toward the side of evil."
"This is what I mentioned before: the connection between the soul and the martial soul. An evil martial soul will influence a person's soul."
"Likewise, an evil soul will inversely influence a person's martial soul."
"The birth of an Evil Soul Master stems more from personal selfish desires, evil thoughts, and evil cultivation methods."
Hearing Bei Bei's words, Tang Ya felt much better, yet she still could not avoid her prejudice against Evil Soul Masters.
Tang Ya felt conflicted; she hoped to quickly improve her strength, yet she feared becoming an Evil Soul Master.
"How you choose is up to you. If you don't mind, you can come with me to the Library Pavilion every day to study those theoretical works. It can broaden your knowledge and improve your state of mind," Bei Bei suggested.
Tang Ya nodded. She truly had no better options and could only do as Bei Bei said.
In the blink of an eye, a few more days passed, and the day for Shrek Academy's annual enrollment arrived.
Mu En felt that Bei Bei should interact more with his peers, so he arranged for him to study in the Outer Court, and Bei Bei was assigned to Freshman Class One.
Bei Bei went to the registration office to collect his dormitory key, two sets of school uniforms, and a white freshman badge.
Arriving at the dormitory entrance, Bei Bei found Mu En half-reclining on a chair, squinting his eyes as he basked in the sun.
"Mystic Ancestor, why are you lying here?" Bei Bei greeted him.
"It's much livelier here than in the Outer Court. Watching these children full of vigor makes even my heart feel younger," Mu En laughed.
"Mystic Ancestor, I'll go check out my dormitory first, and I'll come back down to keep you company later," Bei Bei said.
"Don't worry about me. Your roommate has already arrived; that kid has decent talent. You two should get along well," Mu En waved his hand in refusal.
Decent talent? If he could catch the eye of Elder Mu, could it be that guy?
"Understood." Bei Bei nodded in response and stepped into the dormitory building.
Arriving at his dormitory door, he saw it was slightly ajar; someone had already gone inside.
Standing in the room was a tall, sturdy youth with short, sharp black hair, with a few strands at his forehead seemingly tinged with red.
"You must be my roommate! My name is Xu Sanshi, from the Heaven Spirit Empire. What should I call you?" Xu Sanshi laughed.
"You can call me Bei Bei!" Bei Bei replied with a smile, thinking to himself that it really was him.
Just as Bei Bei finished spreading his bedding on the bed, Xu Sanshi leaned over and said, "Shrek Academy is quite large. Let's go out for a stroll in a bit to familiarize ourselves with the place!"
"Very well!" Bei Bei nodded, not refusing.
After walking out of the dormitory, Bei Bei gave a slight nod toward Mu En.
In front of the dormitory, people came and went, full of youthful vigor; they were all students enrolling in Shrek Academy.
Xu Sanshi didn't manage to keep a straight face for long before his true nature was exposed. He tugged at Bei Bei and whispered, "Bei Bei, our academy has quite a lot of little beauties!"
"Are you here to familiarize yourself with the academy, or to look at beauties?" Bei Bei said with some helplessness.
He was quite indifferent to this; perhaps because he often saw beauties like Zhang Lexuan, Ma Xiaotao, and Tang Ya, he didn't find this particularly stunning.
"Bei Bei, stop putting on an act. With so many beauties, just looking at them is a feast for the eyes," Xu Sanshi said with a somewhat sleazy grin, his eyes darting around, nearly popping out of their sockets.
Bei Bei wore a white-gold outfit, his figure slender and handsome, with short golden hair and facial features as perfect as a sculpture, radiating sunshine and vitality.
