History

Shrek Academy has stood for ten thousand years and trained countless soul masters. Its graduates are sought after by the continent’s great empires, while many former students hold influential positions within those states and support the academy’s intelligence network 54 92 163.

The academy’s Inner Court was located on Sea God Island, an island surrounded by a vast lake. At its center stood the Golden Ancient Tree, whose golden light and life aura enveloped the grounds; the Sea God Pavilion was carved into the tree’s trunk and served as Shrek’s highest seat of authority 1 2.

Before Bei Bei’s leadership, Shrek retained a strong traditional focus on martial souls, and much of the Martial Soul Department viewed soul tools as inferior shortcuts. Bei Bei publicly argued that this attitude left the academy behind the era’s technological development 97.

During the All-Continent Advanced Soul Master Academy Tournament, the academy entrusted its reserve team to compete rather than send reinforcements, treating the event as a trial for the students’ growth despite its ten-thousand-year undefeated record 95. The team ultimately defeated the Sun Moon Imperial Soul Engineer Academy in the final and secured the championship 121.

The academy later became a target of Tang San’s influence. Ah Yin and the souls of past Shrek principals were used to erode the Golden Ancient Tree, while Tang San brainwashed the academy’s students and teachers; the senior leadership remained protected by measures Bei Bei had previously left behind 133 159.

After the crisis, Mu En formally severed Shrek Academy’s ties with Tang San, ordered all related items destroyed, and appointed Bei Bei as the new Dean. Sea God Pavilion was subsequently renamed the Eternal Pavilion, and Sea God Lake was renamed Eternal Life Lake 163 169 181.
