Power Progression
Personal History and Actual Advancements
| Stage / Realm / Level | Chapter | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Ten-thousand-year cultivation | 15 | A memory of his youth shows his breakthrough to this threshold. The Dragon God personally bestows Dragon God Claw, which he practices relentlessly. |
| 890,000-year cultivation; Demigod-level strength | 3 108 342 | His starting level. He can defeat ordinary Rank 99 Limit Douluo but remains unable to attain godhood through conventional cultivation. |
| God Official | 354 | The Dragon Vein chooses him after his severed claw satisfies the pure-blooded-dragon condition. Absorbing released power restores his mutilated body and breaks the divine threshold. |
| Third-Level God | 354 | Continued Dragon Vein absorption carries him through the peak of God Official strength into the next divine rank. |
| Second-Level God | 354 357 | His breakthrough ultimately reaches this stage. Only part of the Dragon Vein is absorbed, but he gains genuine time-space power and natural spatial traversal. |
Sky Screen Depictions
The Sky Screen presents fabricated “possible futures” created by Shi Luo. These feats are distinct from Di Tian’s actual advancement; his later breakthrough explicitly falls short of the fully empowered version shown on-screen 1 354.
| Stage / Realm / Level | Chapter | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| God-level strength; cultivation beyond one million years | 19 20 | In the opening projection, the Dragon Vein accepts his answer to its trial, attaches to his remnant soul, and reconstructs his body. He passes both the 900,000-year and million-year thresholds without a heavenly tribulation. |
| First-Level God combat strength | 30 37 43 | The projected Di Tian’s raw power reaches this level, although his divine combat experience remains inferior to Tang San’s. |
| Reconstructed body and stronger time-space control | 44 | The Dragon Vein revives him after his body is destroyed. He claims his new strength can shatter a God King. |
| Temporary peak God King strength | 45 | Power mirrored by versions of himself across dimensions temporarily elevates him to this level. He generates Space-Time Turbulence and fields 25 temporal replicas. |
| Temporary Third-Level God power, approaching Second-Level God | 315 320 | In a later projected future, Gu Yuena lends him darkness-attributed Divine Power to fight Du Bisou’s Martial Soul Avatar. This is borrowed strength, not permanent godhood. |
Background / History
Di Tian’s parents are the Light Dragon King and Dark Dragon King. During his youth in the Dragon Clan Secret Realm, he received Dragon God Claw directly from the Dragon God. His parents praised his talent while speaking with Taotie, an old friend of his father whom Di Tian later calls “Uncle” 15 344.
His first encounter with Gu Yuena occurred when an exhausted silver dragon descended into the Star Dou Great Forest like a silver meteor. Di Tian regarded that meeting as the beginning of his duty to protect his Sovereign, a responsibility he carried for hundreds of thousands of years 15 16.
As Beast God, he guarded the forest’s core against human incursions. The Sky Screen recounts his victory over the Evil Eye Tyrant Sovereign through Dragon God Claw, leaving the challenger critically wounded. Despite his strength, Di Tian’s pursuit of godhood remained blocked by the God Realm’s prohibition and the Dragon God’s own decree against soul beast ascension before his awakening 3 16.
Appearance
- Dragon form: An enormous black dragon with golden, vertically slit pupils and wings 4 14 352.
- Human form: Black hair, black clothing, golden dragon eyes, and two horns on his head 5 238.
- Characteristic posture: Often stands with his hands behind his back, maintaining an outwardly dignified bearing 5 14 15.
- Dragon Vein empowerment: Purple energy coils around him like swimming dragons, and purple light flashes within his golden eyes 19.
- Temporary injuries: Loses a wing during the Evil Emperor’s ambush and a claw to Tang San; Dragon Vein absorption later regenerates his damaged body 347 352 354.
Personality
Di Tian is proud of both his dragon lineage and his position as Beast God. He initially treats weaker humans with open contempt, but revises his judgment when they demonstrate unexpected strength or knowledge. Wu Wei’s survival of Dragon God Claw and knowledge of the Dragon Vein turn Di Tian’s dismissiveness into caution 4 5 9.
His composure conceals considerable emotional vulnerability. When the Sky Screen exposes an undignified version of him, he vents his embarrassment by striking Xiong Jun under the pretext of testing his progress. Bi Ji recognizes the excuse immediately, and he tolerates her amusement more readily than anyone else’s 14 15.
The projected tragedies force him to distinguish service to the Dragon God and Silver Dragon King from responsibility toward all soul beasts. He chooses the soul beast race as his highest allegiance and becomes more willing to accept Bi Ji’s emotional support 16 17.
That commitment does not make him merciful. Fearing the destruction of his people, he abandons concern for titles and honor, takes hostages, and exploits Xiao Xiao as a means of obtaining the Dragon Vein. He nevertheless retains strategic restraint, postponing conflict with dangerous opponents and accepting Gu Yuena’s decision to withdraw from an unsustainable divine battle 262 341 352 357.
Abilities & Skills
Dragon God Claw
A divine technique personally inherited from the Dragon God during Di Tian’s youth 15.
- Defeats the Evil Eye Tyrant Sovereign in the history presented by the Sky Screen 3.
- Shatters Mu En’s Sovereign Over All and Dragon Emperor Evil-Breaking Rend, despite the latter’s light-attribute advantage 342.
- Destroys the upper section of the Dragon Vein Seal site, opening a route into the buried Rōran ruins 351.
- After his actual breakthrough, injures Tang San while he controls the God of Love’s body, severing an arm 356.
- Is not unbeatable: the weakened Demigod Di Tian cannot withstand Tang San’s Second-Level God avatar, and Mu En and Xuan Zi’s fused Taotie can deflect its slash 344 348.
Dragon Might and Bloodline Suppression
Di Tian’s pure dragon bloodline exerts pressure on soul beasts and Beast Martial Souls 3 239.
- Prevents most members of Beibei’s group from summoning their Beast Martial Souls 239.
- Tool Martial Souls can still manifest but tremble under his pressure 239.
- Xu Sanshi’s Xuanming Turtle resists better because it is not dragon-type and carries a trace of Xuanwu bloodline 239.
- Dragon Emperor God-Annihilating Howl suppresses Niu Tian, Mu En, and Xuan Zi through their dragon-related bloodlines 352.
Darkness and Spatial Attacks
Di Tian combines darkness-attributed Soul Power with spatial force in his combat techniques 344.
- Dark domain: Covers more than ten miles and supports red-black slashing attacks 344.
- Sun and Moon Shine: A ten-meter red-black energy sphere combining darkness and space; destroys Mu En’s light domain 344.
- Black Dragon Annihilation: His ultimate innate move, unleashed after returning to his true dragon form against the fused Taotie 344.
- Attribute limitation: Mu En’s light power can disperse his darkness and weaken his slashes, though it does not overcome the overall cultivation gap 342 344.
Dragon Vein Time-Space Power
Partial Dragon Vein absorption grants Di Tian authentic command over time and space 354.
- Crosses space naturally, unlike combatants who force their way through by tearing it open 354.
- Travels underground without visibly excavating the surface 362.
- Teleports destructive Soul Power bubbles beside Du Bisou’s Soul Power giant, combining ranged bombardment with spatial positioning 366.
- Uses mobility both to pursue Du Bisou and to maintain distance while wearing him down 366.
- Cannot yet claim the remaining Dragon Vein power; another wielder of the Three-Life Soul-Suppressing Cauldron is needed 355 356.
Heavenly Timing
A time-based divine skill demonstrated in the Sky Screen. Gu Yuena later urges the actual Di Tian to develop it 33 357.
- Fixes the target’s current condition, including Soul Power, injuries, and stamina 33.
- Delays injury and exertion rather than eliminating them; all accumulated consequences arrive when the effect ends 33.
- Allows projected Xiong Jun to trade blows without immediately losing combat strength 33.
Time Hand
A second projected time-based divine skill, intended to complement Heavenly Timing 33 357.
- Removes a second’s worth of conditions, including damage, from the user’s timeline by severing its cause and effect 33.
- Temporarily empties Soul Power, which then recovers slowly 33.
- Heavenly Timing cannot prevent this depletion 33.
- Its combination with Heavenly Timing can reverse a close battle, but offers less advantage against an overwhelmingly stronger opponent 33.
Other Projected Divine Feats
- Sea-Playing God: Reflects Bibi Dong’s poisonous blade spikes back at her; the Asura God later counters it 41 43.
- Time travel: Uses Tang San’s divine consciousness and Sea God Trident to cross ten thousand years into the past 38.
- Space-Time Turbulence: Threatens the God Realm and requires the combined efforts of its five God Kings to destroy 45.
- Temporal replicas: Creates 25 versions of himself from different points in time 45.
Stealth and Tactical Manipulation
- Follows Beibei’s party unnoticed from only several dozen zhang away, despite its Soul Douluo teacher 236.
- Uses Beibei as bait to draw Mu En and Xiao Xiao into a confrontation 236 340.
- Plants Soul Power in Xiao Xiao to pull her back to him during the three-way battle 347.
- Marks Xiao Xiao’s Spirit Sea with concealed divine sense, planning to exploit her future descendants 355.
- Bluffs about the extent of his Dragon Vein absorption when confronting Du Bisou 362.
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Black Dragon Sword — Wielded during the Sunset Forest confrontation before he switches to Sun and Moon Shine 344.
- Dragon Vein — His source of actual godhood and time-space power. He obtains only part of its sealed strength 354 356.
- Temporary Soul Power wing — Replaces his missing wing sufficiently to continue flying toward the seal before his body regenerates 347 352.
Relationships
- Gu Yuena / Silver Dragon King — Sovereign and longtime protected ruler. She rescues him from Tang San, supports his pursuit of godhood, and leads his retreat after the breakthrough. He continues acknowledging her authority because her strength remains beyond his own 15 348 356 357.
- Dragon God — Divine benefactor and original object of loyalty; personally grants Dragon God Claw. Di Tian later learns that the Dragon God’s decree also obstructed soul beast godhood 15 16.
- Light Dragon King and Dark Dragon King — Parents, shown taking pride in his talent and divine inheritance 15.
- Taotie — His father’s old friend, whom Di Tian calls “Uncle.” The resemblance of Mu En and Xuan Zi’s fusion to Taotie intensifies his anger 15 344.
- Bi Ji — Trusted companion who understands his hidden embarrassment and comforts him after the Sky Screen’s tragic revelations 14 15 17.
- Xiong Jun — Subordinate and habitual challenger. In a projected future, Di Tian saves him from Du Bisou’s avatar while disguising his concern as an insulting command 14 320 321.
- Wu Wei — Temporary ally in the opening projection. His knowledge offers a path to godhood, but he uses Di Tian as part of the Dragon Vein’s sacrificial unsealing 9 11 19.
- Xiao Xiao — Captive exploited for her Three-Life Soul-Suppressing Cauldron. After her apparent sacrifice, Di Tian secretly marks her and looks to her descendants as potential keys to the remaining seals 352 354 355.
- Beibei — Hostage used to lure Xiao Xiao and Shrek’s rescuers 236 340 341.
- Mu En and Xuan Zi — Longstanding human opponents who coordinate to rescue the students and prevent his Dragon Vein acquisition 341 342 344.
- Tang San — Divine enemy who manipulates him through the God of Love, intervenes against his breakthrough, and supplies power to the forces opposing him 108 348 352 357.
- Niu Tian / Sky Azure Bull Python — Former Star Dou soul beast whom Di Tian accuses of betrayal. Niu Tian counters that Di Tian failed to protect him and Titan from Spirit Hall 351.
- Evil Emperor — Rival who ambushes him during the Sunset Forest battle, seeking to eliminate Di Tian before he obtains the Dragon Vein 347 348.
- Du Bisou — Enemy associated with past slaughter of the forest’s Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beasts. Di Tian later confronts him underground to demand the return of absorbed Life Energy 314 362.
Story Role / Major Arcs
Opening Sky Screen: “God Slayer · Di Tian”
- Shi Luo selects Di Tian as the first major subject of his fabricated history, using the Beast God’s frustrated pursuit of godhood to attract belief 1 3.
- The projected partnership with Wu Wei leads to sacrificial unsealing, a mysterious desert confinement, and a trial of Di Tian’s loyalties 9 11 14 16.
- Di Tian’s answer prioritizes the soul beast race. The real Di Tian also accepts Bi Ji’s support and resolves to prevent the tragedies shown 17.
- The projection escalates from divine advancement and conflict over the Dragon Kings’ remains to time travel, combat against three newly ascended gods, and confrontation with the God Realm’s God Kings 19 24 38 41 43 45.
Pursuit of the Dragon Vein
- Di Tian orders Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beasts to gather in protective groups before leaving the forest to seek the breakthrough shown on-screen 107.
- A Divine Power seed planted through the God of Love attempts to influence his subconscious. An unexplained dragon roar suppresses it but leaves a trace that Tang San later exploits 108 352.
- He captures Beibei to lure Xiao Xiao, whose Martial Soul is needed at the Dragon Vein Seal 236 238 340.
- Further Sky Screen revelations show the forest’s destruction, Gu Yuena’s endangered recovery, and a future evacuation. Di Tian responds by prioritizing the Dragon Vein over premature conflict with the threatening Body Sect expert 262 328 340.
Sunset Forest Breakthrough
- The hostage exchange becomes a battle against Mu En and Xuan Zi, followed by the Evil Emperor’s ambush 341 344 347.
- Gu Yuena saves Di Tian from Tang San’s avatar and sends him onward to the seal 348.
- Di Tian outmaneuvers three pursuers, reaches Rōran, and forces Xiao Xiao’s Martial Soul above the sealing array 351 352.
- Tang San severs his claw, inadvertently supplying the pure-dragon component that allows the Dragon Vein to choose him 352 354.
- Di Tian becomes a Second-Level God, then escapes with Gu Yuena when Tang San’s continuing reinforcements make prolonged combat unsafe 354 357.
Defense Against Du Bisou
- After returning, Di Tian assembles nearly every Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beast in the forest’s Core Area 361.
- With Gu Yuena recovering in seclusion, he delegates the forest’s defense and confronts Du Bisou beneath the forest 362.
- Their fight pits Di Tian’s spatial mobility and destructive bombardment against Du Bisou’s Life Energy-fueled regeneration 366.
