Background / History

Naruto was born during the Nine-Tails' Attack on Konoha. Minato Namikaze used the Dead Demon Consuming Seal to divide the Nine-Tails' chakra and sealed part of it within the newborn Naruto through the Four Symbols and Eight Trigrams Seals. Minato and Naruto's mother, Kushina Uzumaki, died protecting both their son and the village. 1

As an Academy student, Naruto's seal and the chaotic chakra within him left him with extremely poor chakra control. He repeatedly failed the Clone Technique, producing weak, defective clones despite his unusually large chakra reserves. 2 3 9
