"Have a seat. Would you like something to drink?"
It was Maliu's first time bringing a man home, and she felt a little shy.
Especially when she thought of Xu De's age, she could not help feeling like some bad older sister.
As she asked distractedly, Maliu drifted over to the built-in refrigerator.
"Water is fine."
"Mm."
Hearing that, Maliu quickly placed a bottle of water in front of the boy.
"Thank you for what happened earlier. But did you know from the start that World Tree would collapse?"
As Maliu spoke, her expression grew more solemn and curious. This question could be either minor or serious. If Xu De truly had known, then how had he known? Could he be a spy?
But there was one major point of doubt: a spy would most likely not have gone out of his way to tell her anything.
That was also the biggest reason she had not told anyone else, though it did not mean the doubts in Maliu's heart had disappeared.
"I just had a bad feeling. Those people were smart, after all. They would most likely realize this place was a trap."
Xu De gave the explanation he had prepared long ago.
Since he had said it back then, he could always patch up the story afterward.
"I suppose so..."
Xu De's explanation was somewhat forced, but it was perfectly reasonable.
"Did you tell anyone else?"
Maliu asked, sounding a little uneasy and nervous.
"I only told you."
Xu De said.
Faced with his serious answer, Maliu had originally thought that if Xu De had told anyone else, she would warn him to be careful.
But now, her heart stirred instead.
"So... you only told me?"
Maliu's eyes widened as she looked at him and asked again.
"Mm, yes."
