Uzumaki Jiuming encountered a Konoha ambusher after turning back from an explosion and survived by outmaneuvering him with sensory skills and Explosive Tags. Just as he believed the enemy was dead, a second attacker wounded him and trapped him between closing boulders.
Uzumaki Jiuming fought a blond Rock Shadow Village ninja who used explosive clay and Earth Release, and was pinned down with a Clay Bomb as his Chakra ran low. Jiuming released his Yin Seal to counter the bomb, but the chapter ended before the result was revealed.
Uzumaki Kuming escaped the Blond Youth after their fight, then discovered that children and the Chunins guarding them had been killed. Minato Namikaze arrived too late to find survivors and continued searching for Kuming.
After surviving an ambush, Jiuming treated his wounds and realized he needed to learn more practical jutsu. He reached Genmyoji, where a hidden barrier cut off his Shadow Clone’s chakra, and sensed powerful enemies inside.
Uzumaki Kuming accidentally triggered a powerful sealing technique while infiltrating Genmyoji, Konoha’s temporary command post. He confirmed that the people there were from his village and ran to meet the Third Hokage, while the blast caused no casualties.
Uzumaki Kuming reached the final checkpoint after surviving an attack and learned he was the only student to complete the exam route. After receiving treatment, he realized Uchiha Seishin had discovered his deception and wondered about Seishin’s identity before falling asleep.
Uzumaki Kuming returned to Konoha and learned that his sister Kushina and he were candidates to become the village’s next Jinchuriki because Uzumaki Mito’s life was nearing its end. Kuming volunteered to bear the Tailed Beast instead of Kushina, and Mito said she would consider both siblings’ wishes.
Uzumaki Kuming enrolled at Konoha's Ninja Academy, where a teacher recognized him as the only student who had reached the finish line. He entered the school determined to train without Chakra until his Yin Seal stabilized, while Kushina left after teasing him about his abilities and Genin missions.
Uzumaki Jiuming spent his first day at the Ninja Academy ignoring a history lesson to refine Chakra, then was attacked by a trained shinobi disguised as a student. After reporting the incident, he suspected Danzo might be behind it, and Academy teachers went to inform the Third Hokage.

After a failed Root assassination attempt on Uzumaki Kuming, Hiruzen Sarutobi ordered extra protection for the Ninja Academy and suspected Danzō. Kuming then arranged for Minato Namikaze to tutor him in Taijutsu and Shurikenjutsu.
Iwagakure forces crossed into the Land of Fire while another shinobi force secretly set out from the Land of Water toward the Land of Whirlpools. At the Uzumaki family training hall, Jiuming sparred with Minato, then challenged Sarutobi Kotaro to train with him.
As Konoha learned that the Land of Earth was advancing toward the Land of Fire while the Land of Lightning attacked from the northeast, Hiruzen Sarutobi heard competing proposals and assigned commanders to both fronts. Meanwhile, Uzumaki Jiuming continued secretly building up his Yin Seal at the Ninja Academy, discovering that his unusual Chakra strengthened his body.
Two years after entering the Ninja Academy, Uzumaki Kuming completed his Yin Seal and sparred with Tsunade, demonstrating his speed, strength, and Fuinjutsu. He declined Tsunade’s offer to graduate early, while a returning Jiraiya called out and asked Tsunade to take him to the battlefield.
Nawaki announced that he wanted to go to the battlefield to earn merit and become Hokage, but Tsunade forbade him from going. Later, Jiuming considered how to improve his combat ability, attempted to develop a Lightning Release technique inspired by Chidori, and badly hurt his finger.
Uzumaki Kuming returned home after training, and Uzumaki Mito helped him find a Ninjutsu teacher after advising him to prioritize learning existing techniques. When Kuming came home from school the next day, he discovered that Mito had arranged for the Third Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi, to teach him.
Uzumaki Jiuming reluctantly accepted Sarutobi Hiruzen as his teacher, and the two became master and disciple. At Training Ground Number One, Hiruzen began testing Jiuming’s Chakra and demonstrated a Lightning Release jutsu, while Jiuming’s unusual reaction to Chakra Paper left the others puzzled.
Jiuming learned Lightning Pillar almost instantly, then watched Hiruzen Sarutobi demonstrate the much more complex Thunder Dragon technique. After memorizing its forty-four hand seals and copying them at high speed, Jiuming unleashed a surge of Lightning Release Chakra that drove Hiruzen and the others to flee before a huge explosion.
Uzumaki Kuming learned the Thunder Dragon under Hiruzen Sarutobi’s instruction, while the Land of Rain front deteriorated and forced Konoha to mobilize its ninja. The chapter left Kuming heading to school with growing dread after learning that Genin, including children, were being sent to war.
Uzumaki Jiuming exposed and subdued a Root ninja who had used genjutsu to manipulate his classmates into welcoming early graduation and battlefield service. Hiruzen Sarutobi covered up the incident by calling the ninja an Iwagakure spy and ordered Jiuming to graduate early, leaving him summoned to the Hokage after class.

After a genjutsu incident at the Ninja Academy, Hiruzen Sarutobi graduated Uzumaki Jiuming early and assigned him to a squad with Uchiha Fugaku and Hyuga Hiashi. The team’s first mission would take them to the Land of Rain, and Jiuming agreed to test his strength with his new teammates.
Uzumaki Kuming sparred with Uchiha Fugaku and Hyuga Hiashi to prove he belonged on their team, overwhelming them with his strength and sealing technique. After acknowledging his abilities, Fugaku and Hiashi accepted him as their teammate, and Kuming led them to celebrate at a barbecue shop.
Jiuming ate with Fugaku and Hiashi, who suspected their team assignment had political significance, then focused on training with a Lightning Release scroll from Hiruzen. After the team rebuilt its rapport and Jiuming’s skills improved, an Anbu summoned him urgently to the Hokage.
