Arc 1Kuming Enters the Academy

Kuming grew up under Mito’s care, developed formidable Chakra and Fuinjutsu skills, and helped Kushina survive a Kumogakure kidnapping. He began the Academy entrance tests and set out alone for the final wilderness challenge, unaware that Minato was following him.

  • Kuming was brought to Konoha with Kushina after Daiki died protecting them, and Mito took the siblings into her care while Hiruzen and Danzo considered their value as possible Jinchuriki.
  • Kuming trained with Mito, learned Fuinjutsu from the Scroll of Sealing, and unleashed a powerful Lightning Chakra outburst that convinced her to begin his ninja training.
  • After Kushina graduated, Kumogakure shinobi abducted her, but Minato confronted them and brought her to safety while Kuming and Mito secretly followed.
  • Mito gave Minato the Flying Thunder God scroll, and Kuming resolved to grow strong enough to protect Kushina and avert future tragedies.
  • Kuming entered the Academy exams, passed the shuriken test with a chakra-infused throw that cratered the target area, and earned an excellent score in taijutsu.
  • Kuming prepared supplies for the week-long wilderness test, then left Konoha alone to reach the distant temple as Minato followed him through the rain.
  • After exhaustion forced him to stop, Kuming built a shelter beneath a giant tree, lit a fire, ate, set warning seals, and went to sleep.
