Uzumaki Kuming confronted Akatsuki, encountered a threat from the future, and pursued immortality research while Konoha fought and captured Sasori and Deidara. The arc ended with Sasori returning to Sunagakure and Kuming and Minato preparing to negotiate with the Stone Ninja and coordinate against Akatsuki.

• Uzumaki Mito broke free of Orochimaru’s control, reunited with Kuming, and departed after warning him against pursuing resurrection.
• Madara Uchiha attacked Team 7 in the Forest of Death, but Shisui and Itachi drove him away before the Chunin Exams continued.
• Kuming told Sasuke about the history of the great clans, then joined Rasa’s forces against Otogakure and continued with Fugaku and Kisame to investigate Akatsuki.
• Kuming fought Madara, Black Zetsu, and Akatsuki in the Land of Rain, sealed Black Zetsu, and discovered that Nagato had fled.
• Sasuke and Boruto arrived from the future as Kuming fought Urashiki, then revealed that Kuming would die fighting Kaguya and that Madara would become a pseudo Ten-Tails jinchuriki.
• Kuming discovered that Orochimaru had taken over an Otsutsuki body, agreed to pursue immortality with him, and spent much of the next two years in the laboratory.
• Sasori and Deidara attacked Asuma’s squad, killing Izumo and Kotetsu and gravely wounding Hiruzen before Kuming arrived and captured both Akatsuki members.
• Chiyo negotiated Sasori’s return to Sunagakure, while Kuming proposed seeking Dust Release from the Stone Ninja in exchange for Deidara and coordinating against Akatsuki.

Uzumaki Kuming defeated Madara Uchiha’s attack, confronted Sasuke, and forced the other villages to accept Konoha’s control of the Jinchuriki. As Kuming trained Naruto and managed growing unrest over Karin, Shisui disappeared, and a scroll led Kuming to realize that Shisui’s assassination had failed.

• Madara Uchiha and Pain attacked Gaara and the Sunagakure group, but Obito, Shisui, and Itachi joined the fight and helped recover Gaara before Kuming’s squad tracked the Akatsuki to their hideout.
• Madara Uchiha attacked Kuming, who fought him in his Golden-Armored Nine-Tails form, sealed Madara’s Rinnegan, and killed him before the Masked Man revived him.
• Kuming buried Yahiko, Konan, and Nagato, then helped Mei Terumi search for Sasuke and defeated Sasuke before sending him away to uncover the truth about the Uchiha massacre.
• Kuming refused the other villages’ demands for Konoha’s Jinchuriki, defeated A, Killer B, Yugito Nii, and Ōnoki, and persuaded the Raikage to accept Killer B and Yugito’s decision to remain in Konoha.
• Madara Uchiha attacked Shisui after Shisui met Karui and Omoi, while Kuming trained Naruto and the Jinchuriki to prepare for Madara’s threat.
• Naruto tried to win Chomei’s acknowledgment and then traveled to Mount Myoboku, where he mastered Sage Mode under Fukasaku’s instruction and heard a prophecy about fighting alongside a boy with powerful eyes.
• Karin lost control of Saiken and killed Miyano, prompting protests in Konoha, but Minato took responsibility and refused to punish her.
• Kuming used Karui’s scroll to witness Shisui’s encounter with Madara through genjutsu, realized Shisui had survived the assassination attempt, and left to search for him.

Uzumaki Kuming killed Madara, took his Rinnegan, and launched a campaign to unite the Shinobi World under Konoha, even as his rule brought war and civilian suffering. Naruto and Sasuke confronted him after witnessing that devastation, awakened new powers, and escaped their first battle with Kuming still determined to impose peace by force.

• Shisui chose to leave the ninja life with Misa, while Uzumaki Kuming and Mei Terumi decided to marry and Mei planned to remain Mizukage until Kirigakure found a successor.
• Madara attacked the Sand and Stone forces to take Gaara’s One-Tail, but Uzumaki Kuming arrived, defeated Madara, killed him, and took both Rinnegan.
• Uzumaki Kuming announced that he would bring the world under Konoha’s rule, then began seizing territory and eliminating the Land of Fire’s ruling class as Minato backed him and Jiraiya opposed him.
• Uzumaki Kuming and Mei Terumi married, and Kuming expanded Konoha’s control by incorporating Iwagakure and conquering other lands while Konoha’s forces fought Kumogakure.
• Naruto and Sasuke witnessed civilians suffering from the war and set out to persuade Uzumaki Kuming to stop, but Deidara destroyed a village with a clay bomb as they tried to protect Hanako.
• Naruto defeated Deidara, but Uzumaki Kuming healed him and defended his actions, prompting Naruto and Sasuke to challenge their uncle and receive new powers from the Sage of Six Paths.
• Uzumaki Kuming battled Naruto and Sasuke with his golden-armored giant and trapped them in Chibaku Tensei, while Naruto and Sasuke broke free and escaped underground after attacking him with a Tailed Beast Bomb.
