They were kept there until morning, when they were bound hand and foot and escorted to the Hokage Office in full view of all the villagers of Konoha.
In this world of ninja, intelligence was valued to an almost absurd degree, leaving many civilians and ninja living in two entirely separate worlds.
So when Ensei Uchiha ordered that the prisoners be escorted openly, in full view of every villager, almost everyone objected.
But clearly, their objections meant nothing to Ensei Uchiha. At this point, there was no one in the entire Uchiha Clan who could challenge his authority.
After all, even the clan head had been the first to surrender.
All of this had created today's lively scene. Villagers, merchants, and nobles alike watched the Uchiha Clan escort the prisoners, as if they were putting on a show.

Well, they were probably sending word to Hiruzen Sarutobi.
It was truly laughable. The very people who had been shouting about rebellion and urging Ensei Uchiha to become Hokage were now tipping Hiruzen Sarutobi off.
Still, Ensei Uchiha wasn't going to punish them. He didn't care either way.
He checked Shimura Danzō's location, and saw that it hadn't changed at all. Had they still not found him?
After that, Ensei Uchiha ignored the matter and went back to reading some of the Uchiha Clan's records about the Mangekyō Sharingan.
Setting aside the Uchiha Clan's reverence for the Mangekyō Sharingan, their records did contain some useful information.
Moreover, in their attempts to bring the Mangekyō Sharingan back to its former glory, the Uchiha Clan's ancestors had certainly tried plenty of things.
These naturally included casting genjutsu, dissecting people, and deliberately creating love affairs and tragedies, whether by choice or by force.
