Death Spider Emperor: No Going Back, Only Spirit Hall Left

Spirit Hall's predecessor was the Angel Council, with a history of at least twenty thousand years. Even if the Qian Family reproduced slowly, producing one Limit Douluo every hundred years would not have been a problem. Even if nine out of every ten Qian descendants were like Qian Xunji and only obtained a Ten Thousand Year Soul Ring as their ninth ring, while one obtained a Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Ring, then over twenty thousand years, they could have amassed at least twenty Hundred Thousand Year Soul Bones.

A Soul Bone dropped by a Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beast would fill whichever of the Soul Master's six body parts lacked one. The Qian Family came with the Angel God Set; its torso bone required Soul Power to reach level one hundred and inheritance of the Angel God Position before it could be absorbed. The right arm bone, the Heaven-Measuring Sword, required completion of the Seventh Angel Trial and becoming the Angel God's High Priest before it could be absorbed.

The other four Soul Bones—the head bone, left arm bone, right leg bone, and left leg bone—could be absorbed if one was lucky enough to gain a Soul Bone's recognition. They could even be removed after absorption.

In other words, if the Qian Family wanted to farm Hundred Thousand Year Soul Bones for specific body parts, their odds were completely different from those of ordinary Soul Masters. It was nowhere near one in six.

And yet, Bibi Dong's head Soul Bone was not a Hundred Thousand Year Soul Bone, because it possessed only one Soul Skill.

Could it be that Qian Xunji had been unwilling to give a Hundred Thousand Year head Soul Bone to Bibi Dong, the Pope's successor? That was impossible. After all, Qian Xunji had no use for one, and the slot for his head Soul Bone was still empty.

His torso Soul Bone slot was empty as well. Could Qian Daoliu not see that Qian Xunji could not inherit the Angel God Position, and so had been reluctant to let him absorb a Hundred Thousand Year torso bone?

If Spirit Hall had neither a Hundred Thousand Year head bone nor torso bone, then it could only mean that they had no stockpile.

If Spirit Hall did not have many Hundred Thousand Year Soul Bones, then it could only be because they had made some sort of agreement with the Star Dou Great Forest.

"Fine. Breaking the agreement was my fault, but over the years, the Star Dou Great Forest has also seen no shortage of Soul Beast riots, with attacks on towns near the forest. That counts as poor management on your part. Consider this Sky Azure Bull Python compensation for the Star Dou Great Forest violating the agreement as well."

Since Di Tian had appeared, Qian Daoliu understood that he probably could not kill the Titan Giant Ape. After all, five fierce beasts lay beneath Life Lake, one of them the continent's greatest healer. Taking the Sky Azure Bull Python's Soul Bone would do.

In the original story, the Titan Giant Ape and Sky Azure Bull Python had sacrificed themselves together to help Tang San break through to Title Douluo. With the Sky Azure Bull Python gone, half of Tang San's support had collapsed. The Titan Giant Ape and Xiao Wu, two Soul Beasts who had lost their external brains, could be dealt with later.

Qian Daoliu showed no courtesy. He stretched out his hand toward the Sky Azure Bull Python's corpse, drawing a crystalline left arm bone from its body and into his palm. To his surprise, Di Tian did not stop him.

The Titan Giant Ape glared furiously at Di Tian, unable to understand why Di Tian would not avenge his elder brother and would instead watch this human take his elder brother's Soul Bone away.

Qian Daoliu said, "Death Spider Emperor, bring that transformed Soft Bone Rabbit with you."

Di Tian spoke in a deep voice. "You may take that transformed Soft Bone Rabbit. The Death Spider Emperor cannot go!"

Just as the Death Spider Emperor had said, once a Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beast transformed, it would no longer be regarded as a Soul Beast, but as a pseudo-Soul Beast.

In a sense, transformed Soul Beasts were much like half-demons, despised by both humans and demons alike.

The Titan Giant Ape could not help roaring, "Lord Beast God, you cannot let this human take Aunt Rou away! He even killed my elder brother!"

"Shut up!"

Di Tian cast the Titan Giant Ape a cold glance. If it had not been worried that the living Angel God behind the Angel God's High Priest might discover its recovering master, then even if a battle would cause devastating losses to the Star Dou Great Forest, it would have attacked and killed this human.

Qian Daoliu said calmly, "The Death Spider Emperor has already allied with Spirit Hall. It is now one of Spirit Hall's own. It wants to leave with me; I am not taking it away by force. Get that straight."

As soon as he finished speaking, the Death Spider Emperor saw Di Tian's furious gaze, which already regarded it as a traitor. It knew that it could never return to the Star Dou Great Forest. It could only go to Spirit Hall and become a nanny.

After Qian Daoliu and the Death Spider Emperor left Life Lake with A Rou and departed the Star Dou Great Forest's core region, bubbles rose from Life Lake. A tall, handsome man emerged, with long black hair and one or two golden strands hanging over his forehead.

Beside him stood a woman in a long green dress. She was breathtakingly beautiful, with long green hair, a pair of swan wings on her back, and an aura brimming with life.

These two were Di Tian and Bi Ji in their human forms.

The Soul Beast form Di Tian had used earlier to block Qian Daoliu's sword energy and confront him had been a Soul Power projection sent through a tear in space, to prevent Qian Daoliu—and especially the Angel God—from discovering the hidden world beneath Life Lake.

With a push of her hand, Bi Ji sent two green lights overflowing with life energy into Xiao Wu and the Titan Giant Ape. Xiao Wu's injuries rapidly healed, the death energy within her body was neutralized, her lost vitality quickly returned, and her rabbit ears grew back.

The Titan Giant Ape's collapsed chest swelled back into place, and the injuries Qian Daoliu had inflicted healed within a few dozen breaths.

Bi Ji asked worriedly, "Di Tian, why do you think the people of Spirit Hall want to cooperate with the Death Spider Emperor?"

"It is only a Hundred-Thousand-Year spider. It cannot stir up much trouble. Once our master recovers, once our master recovers, it will be time for our Soul Beast race to rise."

Di Tian glanced at the Titan Giant Ape and Xiao Wu. "You two, guard Life Lake well. Once our master recovers, the day Spirit Hall and the human world are destroyed will come!"

"Yes, Lord Beast God." X2

Though the Titan Giant Ape and Xiao Wu answered obediently, their eyes were filled with hatred—hatred for Qian Daoliu, hatred for the Death Spider Emperor, and hatred for Di Tian.

Clear Sky Sect, Clear Sky Main Hall.

Tang Zhen, Tang Xiao, and the Six Elders of Clear Sky sat together once more.

After the Clear Sky Sect's desperate efforts to save him, Tang Zhen had awakened. However, he was in poor condition. His skin was shriveled, his hair gray, his face covered in wrinkles and age spots. He coughed from time to time, as though he might die of illness at any moment.

The sound of high heels striking the floor rang out, and a woman entered as well. She wore a court dress, had beautiful azure hair, and appeared to be around twenty-seven or twenty-eight years old.

The woman possessed exceptional grace, perhaps even surpassing Spirit Hall's Pope. Yet strangely, despite such elegance, there was not the slightest fluctuation of Soul Power around her. She seemed like an ordinary person.

This woman was the Clear Sky Sect's Third Young Lady, Tang Zhen's biological daughter, Tang Yuehua.

Tang Lie shouted, "Yue Hua, what are you doing here? Is this a place for you to enter? Get out!"

Tang Zhen coughed. "Seventh Brother, I called Yue Hua back. Yue Hua, come sit."

Tang Lie's expression darkened with displeasure. Tang Yuehua was a useless person who could not cultivate at all, so what right did she have to sit with elders like them? But this was a sect meeting, and the sect master had spoken. He could not openly object.
