Background

Qian Daoliu is a transmigrated individual inhabiting the body of the original Qian Daoliu. He awakens while his son, Qian Xunji, is bedridden after losing to the newly ascended Tang Hao, and immediately recognizes that Bibi Dong's apparent reconciliation with Qian Xunji is a prelude to revenge. 1

To prevent Bibi Dong from destabilizing the Qian family and Spirit Hall, he decides to replace her rather than attempt to change her. He tracks down the hundred-thousand-year Death Spider Emperor in the Star Dou Great Forest, overwhelms it, and recruits it with the promise of a path toward god-beast status. The soul beast takes Bibi Dong's appearance and becomes known as Bibi Zhu. 3 6 7 8

After installing Bibi Zhu within Spirit Hall, Qian Daoliu permits the real Bibi Dong to leave and uses the substitute to preserve Qian Renxue's stability and Spirit Hall's public image.
