Shangguan Yue spread all ten fingers, and bullet-like droplets of white jade shot from each one.

Hyuga Hiashi charged into the middle of the crowd, his Byakugan wide open. "These droplets contain very little chakra. They shouldn't be much of a problem."

Hizashi Hyuga stood nearby with his Byakugan open as well, frowning. "Brother, there's something wrong with these droplets. They seem to contain more than just chakra."

Hyuga Hiashi rolled his eyes. "Hizashi, I'm the older brother. Listen to me."

Hyuga Hiashi was full of himself and determined to restore his clan to glory. He'd awakened his Byakugan at the age of three, believed himself exceptionally gifted, and had been doted on by everyone.

Hizashi Hyuga had only awakened his Byakugan recently. How could Hiashi possibly listen to him? He rushed forward without a second thought, determined to prove himself to Hizashi.

"My foolish little brother, watch how your big brother scatters these droplets! I'm far stronger than that Uchiha Fugaku!"

"Gentle Fist: Eight Trigrams Six Palms!"

Hyuga Hiashi swung both palms. On the sixth strike, he gathered a large amount of chakra and slapped a droplet head-on.

The droplet clashed with the Gentle Fist. To Hyuga Hiashi's surprise, it burst apart instantly, as if it were nothing more than an ordinary drop of water that scattered at the slightest touch.

"See? I told you! My Hyuga Clan's Gentle Fist and Kekkei Genkai are the best!"

While Hyuga Hiashi was still congratulating himself, the shattered droplets seemed to get a burst of nitrous and turned into tiny specks of water in an instant, flying in every direction.

The people nearby casually slapped at the droplets, too. They all burst apart, and the water vanished with them. The mental energy concealed inside, invisible to everyone, dispersed as well.

Propelled by chakra, it spread in an instant, blanketing everyone.

"Hm? What's going on?"

"My head's spinning."

"My head hurts."

Everyone staggered and swayed, clutching their heads and rolling on the ground. Some with weaker wills passed out outright. Hyuga Hiashi, who had taken the brunt of the attack, was the worst off.

Only Hizashi Hyuga managed no more than a muffled groan and seemed to be in the best shape. Not one of the other students had managed to hold on.

"Hm? If I remember right, your name's Hizashi Hyuga. Not bad—you've got some willpower. Sorry for the trouble, but could you explain what happened when the teacher arrives? Nawaki, let's go. This was so boring!"

"Wait for me! Yue, you're incredible! You took them all down with one move! Teach me, teach me!"

"You can't learn it. It's a Kekkei Genkai. Come on."

Nawaki followed close behind Shangguan Yue as he trotted out of the Ninja Academy. Before long, Sarutobi Hinai arrived at the training grounds and was stunned by the sight before her.

"What happened? Did a spy from another village attack?"

"Teacher."

"Who?"

Hizashi Hyuga lay on the ground and weakly raised one hand. "Teacher, I'm over here."

"Are you all right, Hizashi? Tell me what happened."

"It was Shangguan Yue. He defeated all of us by himself."

After saying that, Hizashi Hyuga fell asleep, too. Sarutobi Hinai frowned as she looked at the scene before her.

"Is Spirit Release really that terrifying? I should've sent a Shadow Clone to report and stayed here myself. It's only been a few minutes, and everyone's down?"

Not long after Shangguan Yue and Nawaki left the Ninja Academy, they ran into Tsunade.

Seeing Tsunade suddenly appear in front of them, Nawaki instinctively covered his money pouch. Shangguan Yue, on the other hand, didn't seem surprised at all.

"You finally decided to come out."

"Oh? You knew I was there the whole time?"

"Obviously. You're like a shadow following me around. When haven't you been there lately? If it wasn't you, it was your Slug Clone."

At Shangguan Yue's reproachful look, Tsunade showed not the slightest guilt. She clearly thought it was only right.

"Of course I have to protect you. You're the only one left in your family. By the way, is your Kekkei Genkai related to the mind?"

"Yeah. I only awakened it recently."

Tsunade walked ahead, then suddenly turned around and pulled Shangguan Yue into her arms. "My little man, I'm falling for you more and more. You really are a walking treasure trove."

"Mmph! Let go! I'm going to suffocate!"

"Sis, I'm still here. Have a little decency."

"Then why don't you leave? By the way, why haven't you gone to train with Orochimaru yet? Are you running out of things to spend your allowance on again?"

Nawaki jumped, clutching his money pouch. "I knew you were up to no good. I'm leaving! I'm not coming home for a while."

Nawaki dashed off in the opposite direction. "See you at school, Yue!"

Only after the eyesore Nawaki was finally gone did Tsunade release Shangguan Yue. She spoke in a coquettish voice.

"Yue, this young lady is free tonight. Would you care to grace me with your presence~?"

"Ugh, can you act normal? I'm busy tonight. I need to sort out my Kekkei Genkai."

Shangguan Yue wriggled free of Tsunade's embrace and landed on the ground.

"Oh? Little man, you've gotten so much stronger! You can even break free of my hold now!"

"Obviously. Who do you think I am? I'm your man, the future King of the Ninja World. I have to get stronger every day. Just wait—give me a year or two, and I'll surpass you. Then you'll see what I can do."

"Hahaha! All right, all right, King of the Ninja World. Let's go home, Your Majesty~"

"I'm not a child. Watch your tone."

"Yes, yes, you're all grown up. So, what's the principle behind your Spirit Release? I just watched you knock them all out in an instant. It's pretty powerful!"
