Background / History

Shi Lin was originally a person who died in a sudden accident and was reborn through a miniature bronze coffin. A golden light placed him within the newborn body of Shi Lin, son of Shi Linhu and an unnamed Stone Village woman. Retaining memories of his prior life, he recognizes Stone Village as the starting village of Perfect World and regards Shi Hao—three years his junior—as his younger brother 1.

He grew up in the harsh Great Wilderness, where daily physical training and medicinal baths were essential for survival. His exceptional physique allowed him to endure a private medicinal cauldron, lift a thousand-jin boulder as a young child, and later raise a five-thousand-jin Black Cauldron at age six and a half 4 5.

Shi Yunfeng discovered that Shi Lin could accept Bone Text runes without rejection, identifying him as a rare natural talent for cultivation. He subsequently taught Shi Lin several runes and entrusted him with Stone Village's cultivation heritage 7 9.

While trying to awaken the secret behind recurring golden-light phenomena in his body, Shi Lin discovered the first chapter of the Immortal Ancient Indestructible Scripture in his sea of consciousness. He chose to conceal its existence, fearing that its exposure would invite disaster 28.

Appearance

Shi Lin is a tall, fair-skinned youth with a sturdy build and a notably gentle appearance. At six and a half, he was already 1.3 meters tall; by age eleven and a half, he had grown to 1.67 meters 5 42.

  • Sword-like brows and dark, bright eyes 5 16
  • Long, glossy black hair 16
  • Heroic yet soft facial features and a gentle smile 16
  • His body can emit golden divine light and runic radiance while cultivating 26 28
  • A Qilin-shaped mark appears on his chest after cultivating the Qilin Precious Technique 50

Personality

Shi Lin is confident, determined, and unusually composed in dangerous situations. As a child, he could be mischievous enough to evade morning training, but he quickly became a dependable leader among Stone Village's younger generation 1 7.

He is deeply protective of Shi Hao and repeatedly accompanies him through dangerous journeys, battles, and cultivation trials. Although powerful, he does not kill indiscriminately; after defeating the bandits under the Pangolin Sacrificial Spirit, he strips the surviving bandits of their ability to fight and leaves them to face the dangers of the Great Wilderness 28 41.

Shi Lin is also cautious about the consequences of possessing unusual inheritances. He hides the Indestructible Scripture from Shi Hao, presenting its defensive golden light as an innate ability rather than reveal a secret that could endanger them both 29.
