Background

The King originally arrived in Hueco Mundo as a human transmigrator in his physical body. After dying almost immediately, he transformed into a Hollow, defeated his killer, and consumed hundreds of Hollows in a struggle to become a Menos. During this evolution, he devoured the consciousness of a rival Hollow capable of using an aging ability. 4

By the time of his introduction, he had ruled Hueco Mundo for so long that Hollows could no longer determine whether he or Hueco Mundo itself had existed first. He conquered innumerable Adjuchas, incorporating the remains of those who resisted into the throne at Las Noches. 1

Historical accounts preserved by Hueco Mundo’s Menos claim that he once invaded Seireitei, assaulted the Soul King Palace, defeated Squad Zero, and came close to replacing the Soul King. He instead returned to Hueco Mundo and thereafter remained within his own realm. 66
