Background and History

Norman researched a Human Enhancement Serum in hopes of treating the hereditary disease affecting his family, particularly his son Harry. The resulting Green Goblin persona became increasingly difficult for him to control. After he attacked Shen Fei's manor, Shen Fei captured him and sought his Osborn Company shares 35 36 42.

Shen Fei developed a Reversal Serum that suppressed the Green Goblin persona and gave Norman a self-healing function. Norman agreed to join him after Shen Fei committed to treating Harry. He became Osborn's executive director, handling daily management while following Shen Fei's directions on research projects, funding, and materials. Shen Fei warned that overexertion could allow the Green Goblin to return 42.

Norman and Harry later underwent gene therapy that replaced their disease-associated genes with Self-Healing Factor genes. Norman thanked Shen Fei for saving their family 69. As the company expanded, Norman remained responsible for its internal affairs and later managed an Osborn facility in another universe during Shen Fei's absence 239 335.

Personality

Norman initially refused to surrender his shares, insisting that Osborn belonged to his family. His concern for Harry ultimately outweighed that position: he accepted Shen Fei's leadership once treatment became possible 36 42. He values his work as both a manager and a researcher, and briefly felt slighted when Shen Fei appointed Max captain of the Guardians Alliance. Shen Fei reassured him that Norman would oversee the team in the company's daily operations 62.
