The Neutron Jammer Diffusion Proposal, Discussed Again

"It's useless to talk about this now. All we can do is find a way to take that guy out, even if it costs us a massive amount of troops."

"Otherwise, as long as he's alive, he'll continue to exert combat power equivalent to an entire flight division. The longer this drags on, the greater our losses will become."

Horton sighed upon hearing the staff officers' chatter, then stated his thoughts with unwavering resolve. Everyone else nodded in agreement without exception.

Inside Felix's personal quarters.

Sitting in his chair, Felix routed a communication signal through the forces stationed in outer space to call the Ministry of Defense back on PLANT.

The moment the connection was established, Patrick Zala's face appeared on the screen.

"What is it?"

Patrick's voice came through, his expression stern. Hearing the Chairman's voice, Felix raised his hand in a salute and asked.

"Chairman, is there any way to speed up the supply of reinforcements?"

"Are the losses that heavy?"

Patrick's pupils constricted as he countered with a question.

Felix nodded slightly and replied through the comms.

"We clashed with the Earth Alliance Forces again today. We lost over fifty Ginn units in this battle alone. Combined with the forty or so lost previously, we are now down to only about half of our original MS force."

"If another battle like today's occurs, we will have no way to hold Victoria Spaceport any longer."

"Why are the losses so much higher this time?"

Patrick frowned and asked through the comms.

Felix replied.

"The Earth Alliance Forces have found a way to bypass the interference caused by the Neutron Jammer on radar and communications. Their units can now communicate with each other, and their missiles are no longer inaccurate."

"This shift in the situation means the advantage provided by the Neutron Jammer has almost ceased to exist."

"I understand."

Patrick nodded and replied. He continued through the comms.

"The Ministry of Defense will have the reinforcements depart ahead of schedule. However, the supplies aren't fully prepared yet; I can only send you what is currently ready."

"Chairman, how long will these supplies last?"

Hearing this, Felix looked at Patrick and asked.

Patrick answered through the comms.

"They will be enough to sustain you for one or two battles, no problem! Rest assured! I will continue preparing supplies on this end and strive to send the remainder to you according to the original plan."

Thinking that he could sustain one or two more battles, Felix felt his heart ease slightly. Although the situation was urgent, it wasn't to the point where they couldn't hold out until the new supplies arrived.

"I understand, Chairman."

Felix replied, then stood up and saluted.

"Thank you, Chairman, for your understanding!"

"No need for thanks; this is what we should do. If anything, I should be the one thanking you brave and fearless soldiers. Thank you for continuing to hold Victoria Spaceport for PLANT."

Waving his hand, Patrick dismissed Felix's gratitude while offering his own in return.

After a few more words, Patrick ended the communication and called in the three members of the Ministry of Defense, including Eileen.

The three soon arrived at Patrick's office.

"Is something the matter, Zala?"

Eileen walked in and asked first. Patrick looked up at Eileen, remaining silent, and simply displayed the report on the screen for the three of them to see.

Upon seeing the contents of the report, Eileen spoke with a heavy expression.

"I never imagined our troops had suffered such heavy casualties!"

"If things continue as they are, we will lose many more excellent soldiers in future battles. It seems the proliferation of the Neutron Jammer is necessary."

As the meeting commenced, Patrick Zala distributed the battle report sent by Felix for everyone to review. As the others looked it over, Patrick Zala spoke up.

"I believe you have all seen the situation. Our forces suffered heavy losses at Victoria Spaceport, losing half our strength after only two engagements.

If we do not take action, our losses in the upcoming battles will not decrease. Therefore, to reduce our casualties and simultaneously neutralize the Earth Alliance's ability to manufacture nuclear weapons, I once again propose the deployment of the Neutron Jammer."

No sooner had the proposal been made than Louise raised her hand in agreement.

"I support the proposal to deploy the Neutron Jammer!"
