Shifting his gaze, Felix maneuvered his Ginn toward a different sector. Seeing that the interception efforts near Junius Nine and Junius Ten were faltering, he didn't hesitate to steer his Ginn directly toward that front.
The pursuing Moebius units noticed the trajectory of Felix's Ginn and increased their thrust to close the distance.
They opened fire on Felix with their equipped machine guns.
Muzzle flashes erupted continuously.
Watching the situation through his screen, Felix manipulated his Ginn to maneuver through the vacuum of space.
He dodged the barrage of incoming bullets one after another.
Raising the Heavy Assault Machine Gun in his hands, he aimed the muzzle forward and opened fire on the Moebius ahead.
Fire blossomed from the barrel.
The Moebius executed a sharp turn in space, successfully evading the bullets.
Several other Moebius units opened fire on Felix, forcing him to constantly maneuver his Ginn to dodge.
After evading the attacks, the Ginn accelerated toward one of the Moebius units in his sights.
He wove through layers of incoming fire while maintaining his thrust.
The distance between them closed rapidly!
Seeing this, the Moebius pilot did not hesitate, maneuvering to avoid close-quarters contact with the Ginn.
Felix raised the Heavy Assault Machine Gun in the Ginn's hand.
He opened fire toward the front.
The fired bullets locked down the Moebius's flight path, leaving it with fewer and fewer places to maneuver.
Ultimately, it was forced into close-range contact with the Ginn.
The gap between the MA and the MS became immediately apparent in close quarters.
Relying on its superior agility, the MS gripped its Heavy Slash Blade with one hand. The machine rolled through space, and the Heavy Slash Blade descended upon the Moebius.
The sharp edge, combined with the force of the swing, shattered the Moebius's armor with ease.
The crippled Moebius exploded in the vacuum.
The firelight reflected in Felix's eyes.
Having dealt with that Moebius, Felix called out over the comms.
"We must intercept those attacks as quickly as possible!"
With that cry, Felix maneuvered his Ginn toward Junius Nine, dodging the attacks coming from behind with fluid movements.
He did not turn back to return fire.
The Moebius squadron continued to pursue the Ginn, their machine guns firing incessantly.
Bullets streaked past the Ginn.
Yet, none of the incoming projectiles managed to strike the Ginn.
In flight.
Felix used his targeting system to fire upon the high-speed missiles ahead.
Bullets erupted from the muzzle!
A dozen rounds surged forward at that moment.
The bullets tore through space at high velocity, heading straight for the path of the missiles.
Watching the bullets fly, Felix's gaze shifted to the position of Junius Ten.
In an instant, Felix's eyes turned bloodshot!
He saw that two missiles remained unintercepted, and he saw his comrades fall under the assault of the Moebius.
The light of the explosions and the sight of the missiles filled Felix with uncontrollable rage!
"For PLANT!"
At that moment, Felix heard a heroic cry over the comms.
Following the voice, he saw a heavily damaged Ginn charging toward the Moebius blocking its path. The Moebius maneuvered to avoid the suicide charge, turning its cannons to fire upon the Ginn.
The machine gun fire tore the Ginn apart!
The explosion unfolded right before Felix's eyes.
Watching the flames, Felix gripped the control stick tightly, his eyes locked straight ahead.
The fired bullets had destroyed one of the missiles, but while the other was affected, it did not detonate.
Though its speed had dropped significantly, it continued to streak toward Junius Nine.
Seeing this, Felix prepared to fire again.
Before he could finish aiming, the pursuing Moebius disrupted him. Unable to achieve a precise lock, he knew that firing at this distance would offer no guarantee of a hit.
Yet, Felix ultimately pulled the trigger, sending the bullets flying.
After firing that shot, the Ginn spun in place in the vacuum of space, rapidly facing its rear. This maneuver caught the pursuing Moebius pilots completely off guard.
The rate of fire from the Heavy Assault Machine Gun in the Ginn's hands was exceptionally rapid.
Two Moebius units were destroyed just like that.
The remaining Moebius units maneuvered to dodge, their autocannons opening fire on the Ginn.
Under Felix's control, the Ginn maneuvered to evade.
However, the bullet Felix had just fired did not have the good fortune to strike the missile as before, merely grazing past it.
The unaffected missile continued its trajectory toward Junius Seven.
Fortunately, at this moment, Hawkins had temporarily shaken off his pursuers, finding the time to open fire.
Without a moment's hesitation, he activated his targeting scope and locked onto the missile.
With the aid of the computer to calculate trajectory and velocity, everything was prepared, and he fired at the missile.
The bullet left the muzzle.
Just as the bullet cleared the barrel and Hawkins prepared to fire again, an autocannon round from a Moebius struck the Heavy Assault Machine Gun held by the Ginn Hawkins was piloting.
The machine gun shattered instantly upon impact.
Hawkins controlled the Ginn to quickly discard the damaged weapon, and the Ginn gripped its Heavy Slash Blade.
He piloted the Ginn, charging toward that Moebius.
The Moebius maneuvered to evade, its autocannons firing at the Ginn.
Hawkins piloted the Ginn to dodge.
Seeing this, the pilots of the other three Moebius units joined the effort to take down Hawkins.
Hawkins's situation was dire!
Without the Heavy Assault Machine Gun as a ranged weapon, he struggled significantly against the Moebius units' long-range attacks.
Struggling, Hawkins's constant concern for the safety of the colony caused him to glance at the situation periodically; this distraction made his predicament even more perilous.
A round fired from a Moebius struck the Ginn's leg.
One leg exploded, and the Ginn's mobility plummeted instantly.
"It seems my luck may have run out today!"
Feeling the state of his Ginn, Hawkins prophesied his own fate like a seer. The melancholy vanished in an instant, replaced by a steely gaze fixed upon the enemies ahead.
He piloted the Ginn, lunging toward the enemy!
The Moebius evaded the attack, its autocannons firing at Hawkins's MS.
The other three Moebius units did the same from different directions. As Hawkins piloted the Ginn to dodge, the loss of agility left him feeling powerless despite his resolve.
