Background / History

Minato developed the Rasengan after mastering the Flying Thunder God Technique and realizing that teleportation alone did not provide a decisive killing blow. Inspired by the Tailed Beast Bombs of the Four-Tails and Five-Tails and by Jiraiya’s rotational chakra, he spent three years creating a powerful technique that required no hand seals. 70

As the Fourth Hokage, Minato fought the complete forms of Kokuō and Son Gokū, defeated Kokuō, and forced Rōshi to retreat. During this period, he was reunited with Keiichi, who was posing as the supposedly deceased Obito Uchiha. 106

Minato disappeared during the Nine-Tails incident and was presumed dead for thirteen years. In truth, Keiichi used Urashiki’s artifact and time-space travel to remove the dying Minato from that night, allowing Tsunade to treat him after his return to the present. 135 136 144
