Su Yu left the Hyuga Clan compound.

He went to Yakushi Kabuto's residence and knocked on the door.

A short while later,

Yakushi Kabuto opened the door.

"Su Yu, what can I do for you?"

"Senior Yakushi Kabuto, among the Genin who came to take the Chunin Ninja Exams, I found someone who might be a member of the Uzumaki Clan," Su Yu said quietly.

"Yes. She's a member of Kusagakure and should be eliminated during the Chunin Ninja Exams. When the time comes, we'll be dealing with a Kusagakure Jonin. I'm sure someone with your abilities can handle it, Senior Yakushi Kabuto." Su Yu nodded.

Yakushi Kabuto fell silent.

The Uzumaki Clan did indeed possess a rare bloodline, and bringing one back would surely prove useful.

She had brought some ingredients and was preparing dinner.

"Su Yu, y-you shouldn't read books like that..." Hinata's voice was very soft.

"I shouldn't? Why not?" Su Yu asked, pretending to be confused.

"T-this kind of book... it's not good." Hinata's cheeks were covered in a rosy flush.

"But I like reading it. Is that so wrong?" Su Yu took Hinata's little hand.

Hinata turned her head away.

Her face felt hot.

"Once I finish reading it, I'll know how to tease you, you adorable little dummy," Su Yu whispered in her ear.

Hinata hunched her shoulders and covered her face.

Su Yu laughed and let go of her hand, then looked at the dinner she had made.

He tasted it and looked at Hinata.

"Dinner's delicious. Thank you."

"Y-you're welcome."

Hinata's voice was barely audible.

Su Yu began to eat, giving his full attention to the meal.

Hinata stole a glance at him. When she saw the smile on Su Yu's face, her heart felt warm and sweet.

After dinner,

Hinata started clearing the dishes.

Su Yu went to the bathroom.

Once she had finished clearing the dishes, Hinata went to Su Yu's room and waited quietly for him.

Before she left, Hyuga Hiashi had told her she didn't have to come home tonight.

That made her feel both shy and excited.

Not even half an hour later,

she heard footsteps.

Hinata lowered her head, her heart racing.

Su Yu, however, went to the bed, picked up a bag, and set it in front of Hinata.

"I bought you this yukata. Go try it on."

Hinata raised her head, her cheeks flushed.

Then she stood up, picked up the bag, and went to the bathroom.

Su Yu poured himself a cup of hot tea and gazed at the stars twinkling outside.

After a long while,

"S-sorry for the wait," Hinata said.

Su Yu turned to look at her.

She wore a pure white yukata decorated with cherry blossoms, and her blushing face looked especially adorable.

"It's about time we got some rest." Su Yu stood up and closed the door.

Hinata pulled back the covers. She glanced at Su Yu as he prepared to turn off the light, then slipped into bed.

Su Yu smiled and turned off the light.

He went to the other side of the bed, lifted the covers, and climbed in.

Once he had settled down, the room fell silent.

In the quiet room,

for a moment, all that could be heard was the beating of their hearts.

Hinata's heart was racing. It was obvious she was nervous and embarrassed, and perhaps a little excited, too.

Su Yu reached out and slowly took Hinata's hand.

"Get some sleep. Don't overthink it. I won't tease you."

At his words, Hinata's cheeks grew hot.

"Mm."

Her voice was soft.

When morning came,

sunlight spilled into the living room.

Su Yu had woken up early and prepared breakfast for both of them.

He carried it into the living room, just as Hinata woke up.

"Eat while it's hot. After breakfast, we have to meet at the Ninja Academy," Su Yu reminded her.

"I'm sorry, Su Yu. I-I'll definitely get up early from now on," Hinata said apologetically.

"It's no big deal. I wanted you to try my cooking, too," Su Yu said gently.

His words warmed Hinata's heart.

She went to the bathroom, changed back into her clothes, and quickly washed up before sitting down at the low table.

She had folded away the yukata and put it in the closet.

Su Yu saw this and smiled meaningfully.

After they finished breakfast together,

Hinata hurried off.

Just as Su Yu had said, the Chunin Ninja Exams began today, and all the candidates had to gather in a classroom at the Ninja Academy.
