Power of the Dragon Vein

The next morning, at dawn.

Hinata Hyuga woke up early and prepared breakfast.

Temari seemed a little groggy, though Su Yu couldn't tell whether it was because of training in Wind Release Chakra Mode or something else.

Su Yu, on the other hand, had slept very comfortably.

After the three of them finished breakfast, they cleared away the dishes.

Su Yu and Temari headed to the Hokage Office to exchange supplies.

Mitaraishi Anko was there too. When she saw Su Yu, she turned her head and pretended not to notice him.

Once the exchange was complete,

Tsunade gave Mitaraishi Anko an order.

"Starting today, you'll be Su Yu's subordinate. You're to stay with him at all times. His orders are my orders."

"Lord Hokage, this..." Mitaraishi Anko said, unable to believe it.

"Is there a problem?" Tsunade looked directly at Mitaraishi Anko.

Mitaraishi Anko opened her mouth, then realized there was no way to change the order.

She lowered her head and replied,

"No problem, Lord Hokage."

"Then we'll be off. Have the Anbu follow us the whole way. Once we reach Sunagakure territory, they can return," Su Yu said to Tsunade.

Tsunade nodded.

Actually, the Anbu would have done that even without Su Yu asking.

Two squads of Anbu were assigned to protect Temari, six Anbu Ninja in all.

That was second only to the forces assigned to protect the Daimyo.

Konoha took the exchange of supplies very seriously.

left the Hokage Office.

Mitaraishi Anko looked thoroughly displeased.

Su Yu didn't try to talk to her.

Temari could tell that Mitaraishi Anko was unhappy, so she didn't speak to her either.

They made their way to Konoha's main gate.

Hinata Hyuga and Neji Hyuga were both waiting there.

"Let's go," Su Yu said, glancing at them.

Hinata Hyuga stood beside Su Yu, while Neji Hyuga kept a little farther back.

The Root members watching from the shadows noticed Su Yu and the others leaving. They immediately turned and went to report it.

After receiving the news, Danzo thought it over for a moment and decided to abandon the operation.

The reason was simple.

They would need to send at least six Root members to take on this team.

And with two Byakugan users in the group, they could easily spot an ambush and escape.

Most importantly, Tsunade had assigned the Anbu to keep close watch on Root's every move.

Forget six men—even three might not escape the Anbu's notice.

If the Anbu caught them, the Yamanaka Clan wouldn't take it lightly.

No matter what secrets they had in their heads, the Yamanaka Clan would uncover them.

Danzo's life was now completely in Tsunade's hands.

It made him miss the Third Hokage.

The Third Hokage had treated him gently, but ever since taking office, Tsunade had been targeting him. She had even barred him from attending the Jonin Council.

Danzo wanted to break free of this situation.

But he didn't have the power to do so.

Unless a crisis struck Konoha and left Tsunade unconscious.

From morning until noon,

Su Yu and the others reached the ruins of the Ancient Kingdom of Roran.

With Temari there to speak for them, no one stopped them.

The ruins of the Ancient Kingdom of Roran weren't aboveground; they lay underground.

The surface was buried beneath the sand, and almost no ordinary people came here.

The entrance was guarded by Sunagakure Ninja.

"Everyone, stay here. I want to study the Fourth Hokage's Sealing Jutsu by myself," Su Yu told them.

"Will there be any danger inside?" Hinata Hyuga asked.

"They've searched the place many times. There's nothing dangerous here," Temari said, shaking her head.

"Don't worry. Stay here and wait for me," Su Yu said, patting Hinata Hyuga on the head.

Hinata Hyuga's cheeks reddened, and she nodded.

Only then did Su Yu enter and close the door behind him.

As he walked forward, he studied the buildings around him.

To be honest, the architecture of the Ancient Kingdom of Roran looked like something from another world. It was nothing like anything that belonged in the Naruto world.

When Su Yu reached the center, he saw the Fourth Hokage's sealing formula, with a Flying Thunder God Kunai left in its middle.

He didn't rush to touch the seal. It wasn't something he could easily undo.

Su Yu crouched down and studied the sealing formula in front of him.

This Sealing Jutsu came from the Uzumaki Clan and was designed specifically to seal chakra and other forms of energy.

However, it had a flaw: once the person who had set it up died, the seal's effect gradually weakened.

He could already sense a trace of the Power of the Dragon Vein.

This alone showed just how powerful the Fourth Hokage had been.

He had been dead for over a decade, yet the seal hadn't collapsed. It was still functioning.

Although it had weakened, it should hold for another three years without issue.

Su Yu recalled the plot of the Naruto movie. It seemed to take place three years from now.

He looked at the sealing formula and placed his hand on it.

Golden chains emerged from behind him, passed straight through the sealing formula, and began absorbing the Power of the Dragon Vein within.

Su Yu watched as the Power of the Dragon Vein gathered into a mass.

It wasn't as wild as Tailed Beast energy. It looked like a ball of energy, but the Dragon Vein's power was actually made up of countless strands.

Each strand of the Power of the Dragon Vein came from deep underground.

"Hm?" Su Yu suddenly noticed that the Power of the Dragon Vein was being drawn to the Tailed Beast energy, as if it wanted to merge with it.

After hesitating for a moment, he let a few strands of the Power of the Dragon Vein merge with it.

The next second,

Su Yu realized that his Tailed Beast Chakra had increased!

"Could the energy the Ten-Tails absorbed back then have been the Power of the Dragon Vein?" A bold guess formed in Su Yu's mind.

It was entirely possible. The increase in his Tailed Beast Chakra made that clear.

For a Tailed Beast, the Power of the Dragon Vein might be the most nourishing energy there was.

With that thought, Su Yu began feeding the One-Tail Chakra with the Power of the Dragon Vein.

The mass of chakra continued to grow.

At the same time,

Su Yu sensed a change in his Wind Release chakra.

It was extremely similar to the One-Tail's chakra.

"Is this because there's so much Tailed Beast Chakra that I can now wield part of a Tailed Beast's power?" Su Yu understood.

Half an hour later,

the Power of the Dragon Vein could no longer merge with it.

The answer was simple: Tailed Beast Chakra couldn't exceed ten times the amount of the user's own chakra.

Su Yu froze for a few seconds, then switched to the Nine-Tails Chakra.

The Nine-Tails Chakra began to increase.

However, the Nine-Tails Chakra didn't seem to boost any of his other chakra.

That wasn't hard to understand.

After all, the Nine-Tails' chakra didn't belong to any of the five existing chakra natures.

But...

Su Yu tried combining his own chakra with the Nine-Tails Chakra to form a Rasengan.

The Rasengan changed in size.

It swelled to the size of a basketball, and its power increased considerably.

"Just as I thought. The Nine-Tails' power is close to the Ten-Tails', so it boosts all chakra," Su Yu said, unsurprised.

He would have been surprised if it hadn't boosted anything.

The Nine-Tails Chakra still hadn't exceeded ten times the amount of his own chakra.
